*1 star for Dr.* HORRIBLE--BEWARE. No bedside manner and her negligence could have literally killed my daughter. My (then 17 year old) daughter saw Dr. Cutting for a second opinion/confirmation diagnosis of PCOS. My daughter came out the examination room crying. We found an endocrinologist who asked if the Dr. (Cutting) had mentioned my daughter's low potassium. She had not.

"Potassium helps carry electrical signals to cells in your body. It is critical to the proper functioning of nerve and muscles cells, particularly heart muscle cells...Normally, your blood potassium level is 3.6 to 5.2 millimoles per liter (mmol/L). A very low potassium level (less than 2.5 mmol/L) can be life-threatening and requires urgent medical attention." My daughter's K level was 2.4!

Needless to say, neither my daughter nor I have been back to see Dr. Cutting or any other medical professional at Physicians & Midwives, although the CNMs were good. Any practice that would continue to employ such a negligent sadist won't get any money from me or my family and there are lots of great options for gynecological care in northern VA. BEWARE!

The worst experience I've ever had with a doctor. Under no circumstances should a doctor ask you how you're feeling and then cut you off to say, "Obviously there's something wrong with you. Just look at you." I left the office in tears and it took me several months to work up the courage to find another doctor to seek help. This is already a vulnerable position to be in and then to have a doctor (whom you've placed trust in) come in and judge you before even working together. Awful.

I was very nervous since I'd never had an annual or pap before, and I'd read some negative reviews of her, but Dr. Cutting was very gentle. She does have a dry sense of humor and is very matter of fact, which I guess some people have taken the wrong way. She was also very thorough in trying to make sure a recent change in my periods wasn't a sign of something worse. Her nurse was super sweet, but I have to say I prefer the Kenmore office (where I had my appointment with Dr. Cutting) staff to the Sherwood Hall office (where I had an ultrasound) staff.

I had to see Dr. Cutting because my Dr. wasn't available and I didn't even know her name until I looked at the board upon exiting. This had to be the worst experience I've ever had with a Dr. I had to have a colposcopy and I've never had one of these before. She never introduced herself....she was very cold and didn't explain much about the procedure before hand. It was quite painful and she told me that it was one of the harder ones she had to do. She basically jabbed each instrument inside of me and when she was finished pretty much walked out. I wouldn't dare recommend this woman to anyone. She was cold and rude.

I went to the Physician & Midwife Collaborative Practice and I had a TERRIBLE experience. Gina Haldeman/Nurse Midwife took care of me and she was rude, mean, and she wanted to be done with me in two seconds. The part annoyed me the most was that she was STEREOTYPING ME! She lacks a lot of education about other cultures. She says that she speaks Spanish, but to me it sounded too bad that I preferred to speak English. In addition, the staff did not pay attention to my insurance information and I started getting a bunch of bills at home and when I wanted to get in touch with the staff took them over a week to get back to me and a few months to fix the issues. It was a nightmare that place, I will never go back there.

I had my annual exam with Dr. Cutting, and it was the worst experience I have ever had with a gyn. Others I've gone to have been efficient and gentle. She let me lay there with my legs open and then when she was ready she jabbed me. I felt like I was a baby bottle being scrubbed by a brush. AWFUL! Now that I am home several hours later I am sore and bleeding. No other doctor has ever made me bleed from a pap smear. She had absolutely zero sensitivity for what is not exactly a fun annual ritual. I left the office feeling violated and awful. As others have said her bedside manner was extremely curt, and she offered no information unless specifically asked. I wish I had read these reviews before going to her... several friends had recommended the practice, but I'll be sure to look up the specific doctor in the future.

I just had Dr. Cutting for the first time. She was rough during the exam, & her bedside manner was abrupt. My lab results were mixed, but I’ve had similar results in the past. Dr. Cutting’s treatment recommendation was more extreme than what I’d received previously, so I tried to follow up with her. She never returned my calls, but a nurse stated that I was welcome to get a 2nd opinion. I did, was told that the treatment recommended by Cutting was overly aggressive, & was given a different option. A few days ago, I received a letter from Cutting, threatening to cut me off from the practice if I did not schedule her recommended treatment w/in 15 days. This was appalling. I've always taken good care of myself, followed all doctor recommendations aside from this one, & regularly sought treatment. I followed her staff’s advice & got a 2nd opinion. What really got me was that she never tried to contact me, despite my attempts to reach her, before sending this rude, threatening letter

This was the worst doctor I have ever met. She was very rough during the exam and was so rude! I could not believe how horrible her bedside manner was. Worst doctor I've ever met!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND HER! I asked her about trying to get pregnant and she made some smartalic remark and then said very annoyed that I needed to try for a year before she would consider anything else. She was very rough during the exam and I told her 'that hurts' and she just said 'yeah' and was almost smiling. This doctor should be reported and have her license taken away.

This woman literally kicked me out of the exam room while I was asking pre-natal questions. My appt. was for an annual and to discuss pre-pregnancy concerns. As noted in other comments, her demeanor is beyond rude, cold, condescending and unprofessional. "Come back when you're pregnant" does not alleviate nor addresses my concerns. If I'm uncomfortable for an annual and my questions aren't being answered, why the hell would I come back when I'll have more questions, and more intense concerns? I wish I'd read these reviews prior to this appointment.
