My first encounter with Dr. Steuer and PA Carter Cooper was in 2005. I was referred by my neurologist for severe pain and weakness in my left hand. Dr. Steuer saw me in his office the very same day. He was kind, compassionate and thorough with his exam. He explained my condition and the necessity for surgery, answered all of my questions and addressed my concerns. I was scheduled for surgery to have two cervical discs removed (C5-7) with a cervical fusion. Two weeks later, I underwent surgery at Northside Hospital. When I awoke in the recovery room, Dr.. Steuer was there and asked how my arm felt. Much to my surprise my left arm and hand were pain free for the first time in months. I was discharged home the next day with subsequent follow up in the office where PA Carter Cooper would monitor my recovery over the next three months. I made a complete recovery, regaining full strength and sensation in my left hand and wrist.
I never expected to require neurosurgery and was blessed to have been referred to Peachtree Neurosurgery. Dr. Steuer and PA Carter Cooper treated my condition with expertise and treated me with respect and compassion. The office staff was friendly, scheduling was flexible and calls were returned promptly.
Over the next 10 years, I returned to Dr. Steuer to have three more procedures: C3-5 fusion, L5 micro discectomy and L4-5 fusion. Each time was a 5 star experience with an uncomplicated and complete recovery. I have referred several individuals to Dr. Steuer and highly recommend Dr. Steuer and Peachtree Neurosurgery.

I was experiencing significant pain in my leg, to the point at which I was having to limit activities. My internist referred me to Dr. Steuer. He promptly worked me into the schedule, met with me and determined the best plan of care for my situation. Dr. Steuer performed surgery on my lower back and now, 10 days post surgery, the leg pain is wholly resolved.

My wife and I were very impressed, and pleased, with Dr. Steuer both in terms of his obvious skill as a surgeon and his overall presentation. I must also mention the incredible team Dr. Steuer's practice has assembled to assist patients in need. From the person who first scheduled my appointment, to the person who called me with pre-op instructions and the person who met us at the door (this being the height of the coronavirus situation) and the nurses who cared for me before, during and after the surgery, and the anesthesiologist who assisted during the surgery, I truly cannot give too high of praise. He and all the other people mentioned do an incredible job of providing first rate medical care and amazing "customer" care.

My husband had spine surgery performed yesterday. Dr. Steuer and Carter are nothing less than magnificent! There is not one negative thing I can say about the Doctor and his staff! Everything was very detailed and planned accordingly. Not once was there a glitch or lack of communication. From start to finish, it could not have been more perfect. After years of arm pain and partial immobility, my husband has his arm back and is able to feel me holding his hand. Time to get back to cuddling! Thank you, Dr. Steuer and Carter! If there was a rating for 10+, you would earn it. None are better than you!!!

Needs to retire. Won't take Medicare, only seems to be worried about paying for his expensive office. Let his P.A.s do all the work. I looked at my office notes and they were a joke. He barely touched me but his notes described a thorough exam. Disappointed to say the least

The staff at Polaris have always been so polite and helpful. Dr. Steuer is also one of the best surgeons in Atlanta. Dr. Steuer, Carter, and Melanie make a perfect team. I felt well taken care of!

I visited 4 surgeons before choosing Dr. Steuer and Carter Cooper, PA, to perform Lumbar Fusion in December of 2013. They showed confidence, attention and concern for me and my medical situation. Throughout the entire process before surgery, hospitalization and post surgery, I felt I was in extremely capable hands. The entire office team is easy to work with. Carter took the time to explain the procedure and what my likely outcome would be.
Dr. Steuer recently performed my Cervical Fusion and I am doing great. Wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Steuer and his team.

Dr. Steuer and Carter, are the most amazing team to have working to find all of the missing pieces of my neurological symptoms. I am usually working with them as a member of the healthcare field coordinating patient care with their medical practice and the medical facility where I am employed. However; I never thought about getting the phone call that I needed to see a neurosurgeon on an urgent basis. I hadn't seen Carter and Dr. Steuer face to face for several years. It was so nice that Carter remember me just from a simple meeting years ago, and listened to my entire neurological history and how Emory had just said that no one was going to be able to find an answer for me. Dr. Steuer reviewed my medical history and the images of all MRI's that had been completed. He was very honest and gave me his recommendation, and when I asked him if you were the patient what would you do? He gave his answer with no hesitation, and had the staff start on my referrals and sending my medical records. When he returned to the exam room that I was waiting in, I was crying my eyes out and just wanted the pain to go away, I was so tired of being sick and that this pain had stolen my very active life, and that I just wanted to hold my little boys hand again and give him a big hug. This simple little thing that one takes for granted in loving your child daily, is so extremely painful, and my little boy, is always trying to help Mommy, because he know that Mommy is in a lot of pain. Dr. Steuer was so compassionate and set with me to help calm me and didn't want me to drive until I had taking in all of the information, and what we needed to do to find the entire answer of my medical condition and even made me promise that I would immediately call a friend to just talk about my medical condition, so that I could make the move to focusing on the next step of my plan of care. In today's medical world, this is a something very special, to having a caring and compassionate team working with you. In recent years this side of medical care has totally disappeared and patients are just known as their medical record number. Dr. Steuer and Carter, I can say is a team, every patient would want fighting to find their answers and providing top rated care in the neurosurgical field.

Tried to get appointment for over two weeks with no return call. the did not take our insurance but a return call would have been helpful. We heard he is a good surgeon but his staff is lacking! a return call would have been helpful
