The process at the Stonechurch clinic is ideal for someone who needs to see a doctor on short notice and on time. My old doctor's office had me booking appointments sometimes 4 or 5 days in advanced, whereas with this practice you call on the day you want to be seen and an appointment is scheduled on the same day. They are always on time, I've never waited longer than 5 minutes past my appointment time. The problem with pre-booking appointments is that the system becomes clogged and people who need to be see asap (for example, someone with strep throat, mono, etc.) can't get an appointment when they actually need it. As for the residences, this is a non-issue. They are all qualified doctors who want to help you. I rather be seen by a resident then have to wait 3 or 4 days plus 2 or 3 hours wait at the clinic to finally see a doctor who is going to rush me out of the practice.

My experience at Stonechurch has not been great. I was told that Dr. McCann was my doctor but only met him ONCE. I haven't been feeling great and I called to make an appointment with him and found out that they've changed polices. You can no longer make appointments in advance with your doctor. You have to 'take the chance' that you will actually see your doctor. If not you see one of the residents. Not great. Not good. I'm out of here...

Dr McCann is a doctor at Stone Church Family Medical Centre which is a teaching facility. In order to be excepted as a patient you must be willing to be seen residents. You are not able to request your doctor in all cases. In fact you will be reminded by front desk staff that you signed and agreed to be seen by a resident. This has caused some issues for me. There is no continuity of care. The last illness I had I was at the clinic 3 times for the same symptoms. Had 2 residents and Dr. McCann once. I was given 3 different answers as to what was wrong with me. This can be frustrating. Dr. McCann seems to be very punctual and is quite knowledgeable.
