I have had many apts. with Dr. Hujic over the years. She listens carefully, is professional, knowledgeable, really tries to solve the problem and very supportive. She's the first doctor in many years that takes whatever I say seriously.

Dr. Nirvana Hujik was good talking to both my ACT team worker and I on the phone when was needed. Her phone call was on time for me to talk and listen to about my Diabetes and Heart Health.

Dr Hujic has been my family doctor for a long time and has always been very consciencious, thorough and caring. She has always provided me with additional information when necessary and respects that I am the patient who likes to be informed and actively participate in decision making. In these COVID times she continues to work full time and responds to messages by phone in record time. Her staff is very kind and helpful, which is also very important. Overall, much appreciated!

I stopped going to her after multiple traumatizing experiences;
My very first visit she failed to check my vitals, when I told her I was having a cardiac episode. Instead she told me it was probably anxiety and put me in an examination room alone. It took me collapsing, before she took my vitals and called an ambulance. I was in full tachycardia. I have since had surgery (an ablation ) to resolve my heart condition.
Even after that I gave her another chance, only to have her give me a hepatitis C test I didn’t ask for and incorrectly diagnose me with Hepatitis C, which was a terminal condition at that time. I didn’t have hepatitis C, but went I through a horrific time emotionally, before this was clarified.
Even after this, I still returned to her, only to have her pressure me to take a medication I didn’t want to take for my fibromyalgia. I told her beforehand that I tended to be sensitive to many medications and that I wanted to stick with what I had been taking for years (a harmless tricyclic), but she was insistent. The medication caused me to have several weeks of myoclonic muscle movement, anxiety and insomnia.
When I went to her extremely distressed over these side effects, she accused me of abusing the medication. I showed her the pill package to prove that I hadn’t and she accused me of abusing some other substance. I HAD NOT!
It is now known that these side effects are often seen with that medication.
All this was years ago, but it has stayed with me because it was so upsetting (hence this delayed review).
I see that she now has several good reviews, so perhaps she has gained experience and lost her arrogance, but I want it known that she caused me a great deal of harm.

Dr Hujic has been my GP for about ten years now. I can honestly say she is the best doctor I could’ve asked for. She helps with all my referrals, and helped save my life when I was in a horrible depressive episode. She listens to whatever I have going on and offers solutions without pressuring me. She treats my sister as well and we couldn’t be more thankful.

I would give zero stars if I could.
She seriously jeopardized my health on more than one occasion, and didn’t accept responsibility for her oversights.
I had to be rushed out of the clinic in an ambulance on my first visit to her.
I told her I was having a cardiac episode and she left me alone in her office, without taking my vitals. An ambulance was called after I passed out.
I gave her another chance, only to have her misdiagnose me with Hep C ( when Hep C was incurable), without referring me to a specialist. I thought I was terminally ill for months before making an appointment on my own to be retested.
Even after this I gave her another chance, only to have her prescribe a medication that I had a serious bad reaction to.
It wasn’t her fault that I reacted so badly to the medication, but she accused me of misuse of the medication (I took one pill), rather than acknowledge that a medication she’d prescribed could be at fault.
This doctor caused me z good deal of trauma because if her ignorance and arrogance.

My doctor retired and I was given a list of 3 other Albany Clinic doctors I could choose. Dr. Hujic was not listed, I just happened to meet her at the Walk-In Clinic. I am a nurse, I know doctors and can read and assess them very well. I asked her to take me as a client instead of the other 3 'choices' they gave me. I asked her because she was thorough in her assessment. She covered physical, emotional and mental health areas. What we call 'holistic' care. She was truly concerned about my health and my needs. I also saw how she treated babies and mothers and I was also impressed. Some of the comments below say 'cold' or 'reserved'. I think if she was a male doctor, they'd say she's composed. Ha! I like her demeanour. Once when she made a mistake, she apologized without me even mentioning it. How many doctor's are secure and honest enough to do that? I think she's an excellent doctor, and when my care exceeded the limits of her knowledge, she referred me to appropriate specialist(s). Dr. Hujic has insight and is truly a caring person and doctor.

I like Dr. Hujic because she is attentive and caring when it comes to my health . She is a no nonsenses doc. I like that too about her.

I have been a patient of doctor Hujic at least 10 years. She never hesitate to send you to a specialist to ensure that everything is under control. I have only positive feedback about her.
