Six years ago, my daughter was seen, very briefly, by Dr Oswald. He assured us that spinal fusion was necessary to stop the back pain from scoliosis. She continues to have chronic pain, either from the continual bursitis points along the fusion or from the lower back having to compensate. She will never be the same and we all regret this. Now she is a physician... In constant pain. Remember that surgeons want to do surgery!
