Thank you so much Doctor Charles for giving me my diagnosis, it has helped me understand that I'm not insane. Now seeking help for what I struggle with, I don't know why the other reviews say what they do, one of the nicest people I have met, was patient with me, didn't make me feel at fault. Don't be scared of the other reviews, just go and you'll understand.

Dr. Chamberlaine is the cruellest person I have ever know in my life. His philosophy is provoke, provoke and then provoke some more as he is very judgmental and dogmatic. In one example, a young patient asked for to see her Clinical chart as she questioned his manipulative ways; but for over a year he kept saying, "we will save it for next time", and he never ever allowed the young patient to view her chart.
He makes very insulting remarks belittling a patient's academic credentials and the academic credentials of her parents because of their ethnic background.
He is the most racist individual that I have ever met.
I summarize my experience with him with the following words:
Cruel
Humiliating
Arrogant
Malicious
Belligerent
Explosive
Rude
Lousy
Antagonistic
Insensitive
Negligent
Exploitive
.....which spell out Chamberlaine

Dr. Chamberlaine deceiving and manipulating strategies worked to give him power and control over his vulnerable patients. The long term consequences is that every person I have come in contact with, every kind gesture I experienced, every random act of kindness has convinces me that Dr. Chamberlaine is the cruelest person I have ever know in my life. I have never understood the meaning of cruelty until my experience with him and whenever I need to refresh my memory about the meaning of cruelty, I reflect back on my experience with him.
If he is in control, he laughs at his vulnerable patients. If he loses control, then he yells at his patients. He attempt to maintain control by instilling fear in his young patients (threatening to call authority figures) as a form of intimidation.
Twenty minutes after my first meeting with him as a young student, he interrogates "Are you sexually active?'.
In another scenario, when a young patient asks for clarification and requested a copy of a medical report, he snapped, "No, you can't take this matter into your hands". He uses this tactics in an attempt to oppress his patients and keep them in the dark to isolate them and maintain control. He takes no responsibility for his sadistic behavior and always puts the blame on the patient. His line of questioning clearly illustrates that he believes that the world revolves around one thing .

Don't go to him. He will change your prescriptions given to you by other doctors even if you inform him you've had a negative reaction to it. On SEVERAL occasions he's done this to people I know and it's put them in very dangerous situations. He'll also tell you he's signing you up for something, disappear on vacation and come back all "woopsie i didnt send your form"

Dr. Charles Chamberlaine utilizes coercive control tactics, and psychological manipulation. He ignores the requests a patient makes (99% of the conversation) but he selectively focuses on one comment (1% of the conversation) and turns this one comment around and uses it against the patient in order to get the patient in trouble. This is a manipulative tactic that he uses over and over again; after using this tactic, he slyly smirks "YOU DO IT TO YOURSELF". Even though he himself exasperated the patient's emotional condition. The only other time I have ever heard that comment was in the movie "12 years a slave" when Edwin Epps (planation owner) uses a heavy whip to flog a young lady slave (Patsy) and as he strikes her harder and harder ; he dismisses "you do it to yourself". Dr. Chamberlaine likes to play games of shock and awe by bringing authority figures unannounced during appointments to further humiliates his young patients and to catch them off guard. He throws the patients to the wolves. He uses police to instill a fear in his patient. When a young patient came in due to fear of hurting herself, he threatens to call police. Historically, police were once used to force indigenous children out of their homes and into residential schools. Police were used to take Jewish people out of their homes and into concentration camps. In the same manner, Dr. Chamberaline used police as a power tool to humiliate his patients, while at the same time he himself aggravates his patients (by not abiding to simple requests). He needs to keep in mind that the future generation of Jewish and indigenous people wrote books and made documentaries about their hardship and in the same token, young patients who were exploited by Dr. Chamberaline will be writing books and making documentaries about the psychological trauma their endured under him. He does everything possible to frustrates a patient and when the patient reacts then he sits back and throws DSM labels and ridicules the patient. He crushes his patient through fear and intimidation. He specializes in the fine art of exposing a patient's weakness in front of as many people as possible. He tramuatized me in ever way possible.

4 previous doctors gave me a diagnosis and he gave me a new one which I disagreed with but trusted him. He turned out to be wrong. He tried to relate so many things back to my father. I felt awkward speaking to him, and felt I received very little advice. In fact, I saw him for a year and a half and can't remember getting any advice, only meds. I have a new doctor now and won't be looking back.

He has a very judmental attitude towards individuals from other cultures. When a patient disclosed her parents are divorced, his immediate reply was "Was your father abusive", When the patient asserted that was not the case, his immediate response was "Abuse is common in your culture". Some of his other egocentric comments include "She should not call herself 'Dr. So and so...considering where she was born", referring to a relative of the patient. On another occasion, he snaps "How can you travel considering where you were born". The most memorable of all was when he snapped, "You have become a thorn and your mother has become a thorn." To summarize when he is alone with a patient, he insults and intimidates but when other professionals are present, then he speaks in the gentlest voice and refers to the patient with "Ms.....".
When I arrived in London, I remember holding a doll (which reflects my innocence at that time), but when I left London I remember thinking that the psychological games that Dr. Chamberlaine played with me are identical to the psychological games that cult leader use to manipulate the vulnerable.
Before my experience with him I believed that doctors gather information for the process of using it to help their patients, but he uses every piece of information that he gathers to exploit the patient.

Saw this doc years ago. He smartly told me I didn't need a prescription for drugs. I needed therapy to get over my anger.....and that I did. I admire his diagnostic ability and dislike his manner. Overall, I benefitted from his knowledge and found great ways to thrive.

It is totally unfair to evaluate doctors (or anyone) after they are past a certain age ; as someone said about the current 72 year old US President he is basically screaming at kids to get off his lawn. In his prime Dr. Chamberlain struck the perfect balance between supporting and challenging the patient and admitted to me his lack of expertise in the use of medications, a welcome display of humility on the part of his profession. He seems to have had challenges in accepting the realities of aging, not appreciating the virtue of leaving on a high note.
