I saw Dr.Mohsin for few years and ow I have moved to another city. I moss him as my best doctor I ever saw. No exaggeration. He is very caring and gives enough time to patients when needed. I have taken many times my test results ordered by other physicians who never explained to me but Dr.Mohsin did take hos time to explain. I saw other pain medicine physician in town but it was a horrible experience there. I am convinced Dr.Mohsin is the best pain medicine physician in whole Bay County.

I was cut wide open from the bottom of my chest to the bottom of my stomach due to cancer being removed. I have never been In pain managment but I came to this doctor and I am not pleased at all, DO NOT trust them with your care the doctor put me on two types of morphine 4x a day and I can't take it it makes me sick and very agitated. I called and asked the nurses to ask the doctor to see me again and they asked one time and he said NO wait until next appointment, I've called three times since then and they refuse to ask him a second time. I am not a drug addict and I am being treated like one. I have 30 Staples and 200 stitches and I'm still treated like I'm seeking. I know you guys deal with a lot of drug abuse, but shame on all of you guys. I'm glad that I have a good doctor willing to step in who is in agreance with me on your actions, they are unacceptable. Please please guys do yourself a favor and if you are recovering from major surgery or you are in real pain DO NOT go here.

Overbooked patients! Doctor doesn't listen to patient! He spends your money typing notes, etc into a computer while is back is to you throughout the visit! Some of the staff whom are responsible for getting your medications approved take their sweet time & meanwhile you're suffering in pain!!! No compassion and zero urgency!
I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!

Ata Mohsin, MD

Dr. Mohsin,

I was referred to you in 2012 by the rheumatologist I was seeing at that time. My diagnosis at that time was fibromyalgia and major depression.

On the day of my appointment, I waited in your office, on your uncomfortable waiting room chairs, in extreme pain, for four hours before I was shown into an exam room. I was treated like a drug seeker and a criminal by your staff. I was forced to give a urine sample for drug testing, which I passed.

After I waited another hour in your exam room, you made your appearance. You did not physically examine me. You did not even come close enough to touch me. You looked at me and informed me that I was FAT. You told me that if I would only lose weight, I would not be in pain. You spent less than five minutes in the exam room with me.

You apparently did not even bother to read my medical records sent over by the referring physician. If you had, you would have seen that I gained over 70 pounds in less than a year’s time, as a result of the pharmaceuticals that my physicians were giving me. Neurontin, Lyrica, Savella, Abilify, and Cymbalta, none of which had any effect at all on the pain I was experiencing.

Every time I saw my doctor, I expressed my concern at the alarming amount of weight I had gained. Every time, the doctor told me to continue the meds, even though I was getting NO relief from the pain and in my opinion, the negative side effects far outweighed any benefit I might have gotten from the medications.

I had been in pain for over a decade when I saw you, and I was NOT fat when the pain began. But you did not bother to ask about any of that, and when I attempted to tell you, you ignored me. I left your office in tears that day.

I have lost 100 pounds since stopping all of the above mentioned medications. My pain is more extreme than ever. I fall asleep at night in pain, I wake up every morning in pain. My pain levels on a 'normal' day are generally a 6-7, higher on a 'bad' day.

Recently I found a primary care physician who actually cares about his patients. He ordered tests. He found that I have an autoimmune disease. He referred me to a rheumatologist who also cares about his patients. He ordered extensive testing and this testing revealed that I have advanced rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis, and vitamin D deficiency.

Because of the horrible treatment I received by you and by your staff, supposed “medical professionals”, I gave up on getting any sort of reasonable quality medical treatment. For the next four years, I did not see a doctor. I lived in extreme pain, near suicidal, hating my life and the body that I was trapped in.

I should have filed a complaint on your behavior with AHCA the day I left your office, but the combination of the extreme pain I was experiencing 24/7/365 in addition to the horrible way I was treated by you and your staff made me completely give up on my own health.

I am writing you today to tell you this. You are a piss poor excuse of a physician. You are a poor excuse of a human being. You have NO empathy, compassion, or concern for your patients and your attitude is reflected loudly by your office staff. You should not be practicing medicine at all, much less pain management.

If you possessed even a shred of human decency, you would close the doors of your so-called practice and go into a profession that would never require you to come in contact with another human being again. Of course, I have no delusions that you will do that. You are obviously more concerned with chasing the almighty dollar than you are with helping people. In any case, now you know the damage that you have done. I could have been getting actual treatment for my illness in these last four years, instead it has done nothing but progress further. No thanks to you.

Sincerely,

[name redacted]

I have read these negative posts on here and completely disagree with nearly all of it. You all sound like a bunch of whiners that think your pain will go to 0 if Dr. Mohsin takes an hour of his valuable time to console and pamper you. I have been seeing this Doctor EVERY month since 2009 and yes, I still live with pain. His profession is called "Pain Management" not Pain elimination. Do not get offended because he is prescribing medications to best treat your condition, so there is nothing really to talk about other than if medication (which means if you can maintain a pain scale somewhere between 3 and 6). He also does injections and is extremely good at them. So, if you want to talk about your pain, I suggest you go see a therapist, that's what they do.

I am under Dr. Mohsin's care for chronic pain management due to 3 failed multiple level lumbar fusions that took place over 10 years. I will be totally unbiased and fair with what I say. Dr. Mohsin is actually a very educated and smart pain management MD. He does not have time to talk to each and every patient about the weather and other things that do not matter. He has a job to do and patients to care for, he does not have time to listen to a lot of insignificant small talk. Do not take it personal that he seems to be all business, he is simply trying to help you with your pain and move on to the others waiting patiently in the waiting room for his care. Dr. Mohsin is anesthesiologist and board certified as a pain management physician, registered with the state of Fla. as a Pain Management Specialist. His medical records are scrutinized by the state and DEA much more so than a normal medical doctor so he has to document and concentrate on what he is told by the patient. He has to be careful with the type of meds he prescribes, whether it is a schedule II, schedule III, or schedule IV opioid pain med so NO he will not play switcheroo every month with your pain meds, ( that would be asking for a patient to accidentally OD) while getting used to a new pain med every month. Lastly your pain will NEVER EVER be a ZERO or a ONE...if you can get your pain down to a 3-4 on 10 scale then that is as good as it gets my friend... I deal with levels of 3-7 pain daily depending on many factors and I don't sleep but 2-3 hrs at the time. I have not slept an 8 hour night in 10 years due to pain... BUT that is the way it is my friend. It is amazing what doctors and the medical community can do but it is also hard to accept that permanent nerve damage/chronic pain can not be "Fixed" as one would think. Pain is hard to explain to one's who don't deal with it daily. I get that. just have to deal with all of these facts. Since Fla. passed such tight laws concerning pain meds in 2014, only a " Pain Management Specialist" can prescribe opioid pain meds on a chronic basis so YES since this law passed it is very hard to have chronic pain treated and the number of Pain Management Doctors are limited. Just hang in there with Dr. Mohsin, he warms up to you after about 12-15 visits and still only says 10-15 words but they are words that matter. If you do not care for Dr. Mohsin, try to find another pain management Physician and see how fun that is...almost impossible

I am a patient of Dr. Mohsin and I have to say he is rude and doesnt seem to care about his patients. My first visit with him was about 5 minutes long and every other appointment after that is about a minute long, if that . He's just all about getting money and not that patients. You try to explain anything to him , he dont care. He will either laugh or say something rude to you. His staff seems not only snotty, but clueless about anything . I'm looking into a new pain management Dr. I wouldnt recommend him to anyone . You are better off finding someone else that actually CARES !!
