Had excellent experience with Dr. Guarnaccia. He is punctual, prompt, but most importantly he has good skills. He was recommended to us by somebody who works at Columbia, and we were very pleased. People pay much attention to stuff that makes one easily upset such as waiting time or front desk, which is all important.
But most important of all, when it comes to procedure, whether the person has skills; or can they guide you through important decisions, and Dr. Guarnaccia excels at that! We have a beautiful baby girl, thanks to him; and it wasn't the easiest case!!

We have been patients at the facility for some time now and were originally assigned to Dr. Guarnaccia as our physician. Dr. Guarnaccia evaluated each of us and prescribed various tests which we completed. We were scheduled to see him on December 17, 2014 at 9:15am to go over our test results, but there was a delay on the subways that morning and the train was held at a station, which caused us to arrive 15 minutes late. Upon our arrival at 9:30am we were informed by the front desk that Dr. Guarnaccia declined to see us because we were late, in spite of the fact that we had been allotted thirty minutes for the appointment and there were still 15 minutes remaining. Again, we needed to review our test results with Dr. Guarnaccia.
Originally we were told that the clinic was short-staffed and Dr. Guarnaccia was conducting procedures on the behalf of another physician. However, we witnessed Dr. Guarnaccia calling in the next couple at 9:55am. We approached Dr. Guarnaccia in the lobby but he refused to speak with us, saying “Not Now!!! I am with someone else.” Needless to say, this left us feeling marginalized and wondering whether this was someone with whom it was worth building a doctor/patient relationship. Candidly, we were insulted and offended by his behavior.
At nearly every single appointment at your clinic we were asked to sign in and then take a seat, and we were always expected to wait patiently when the physician was running late. Now that we were late 15 minutes due to circumstances beyond our control, we were suddenly personae non grata and told to return another day, which would require my wife and I to take an additional day off from our jobs. We stayed and tried to meet with anyone else in the clinic who could help us. We explained our situation to Mr. Fernando and Ms. Amador who said they would do their best to help us and let us know by 1pm. However, we were not able to see anyone else never received a courtesy phone call to let us know. My wife called the clinic at 1:00pm and was told there had been a patient cancellation and that we might take the open slot. However, after 20 minutes we were informed there were no physicians available to see us and so we wasted the entire day.
A week prior to our incident, we took infertility class/orientation with Suzanne the head nurse whom does the orientation/injection classes on every Thursdays on a weekly basis between the hours of 10:00am-1:00pm whom informed us that while under treatment we would have access to a physician at all times, yet we were denied being seen because we were 15 minutes late. Needless to say, this left us distressed and questioning our decision to trust our health care to the Columbia clinic. We know that doctors are busy, but so are working people like us. What if this had been an emergency? This is not the level of patient care we associated with Columbia.

Dr. Guarnaccia’s behavior unprofessional and unacceptable. Seek any doctor within the office expect for Dr. Guarnaccia

I made an appointment to see Dr. Guarnaccia a month in advance. His office told me to arrive 15 minutes before my scheduled appointment at 9:30. The appointment was on a day with horrible rain and flooding. A 45 minute trip took over 2 hours. I called around 9:15 estimating I would arrive at 9:45. They said they'd call be back if it was an issue so that I could turn around. I arrived at 9:45 and waited 15 minutes for them to figure out what to do. They said I could complete the paperwork but that I would likely not see the doctor so I should reschedule. By the way, they told me to expect to spend 2 hours in the office for an initial visit. I'm sure he didn't have 2 hours scheduled with me. The hour plus of paperwork could have been completed later. There are dozens of centers in NYC. If they can't accommodate my delay in a horrible storm, I will find another place.

My husband & I met with Dr. G at CWRC-Columbus Circle. We thought he was nice and to the point. He laid out a clear timeline of what procedures we were going to do - started with 1 natural cycle, 3-4 IUI's and 1 IVF. Luckily, our first IVF treatment worked and I am now 6 weeks along. I didn't encounter any rudeness with Dr. G. I thought he was kind, compassionate and direct. I'm a very logistical person & his detailed outline of our treatment options was exactly what I wanted. I will say this: If you go to CWRC, you will have a primary doctor but when you go for routine morning monitoring appts, you will see any one of the doctors on staff. We only had our initial appt and 2nd appt (to prepare for IVF) with Dr. G. All of my other morning monitoring appts were with the rotating crew of doctors. I've seen & really liked: Dr. McConnell, Dr. Rudick, Dr. Zimmerman, Dr. Dicken. If I had to pick a different doctor, I'd go with McConnell or Rudick. But they are all excellent.

Dr G. is an excellent doctor. He is very knowledgable and efficient. His demeanor is very direct, but he takes the time to explain your options as well as the how's and why's of each option. He also takes the time to outline a clear, agreed upon sort of plan. He is in favor of helping to solve the problems in the easiest and least invasive way. I could see that his direct manner could be misconstrued, but he really seemed to care about me as a patient. The nursing staff was hit or miss. Most of them were great, but a few seemed to pass the buck. Facility is nice and clean. I was seen promptly each visit. Less than 10 minute wait.

I was hesitant to see Dr G b/c of all the negative reviews but was so pleasantly surprised. He's very knowledgeable with great bedside manner. Made me feel very comfortable with my course of treatment. Nurses give some conflicting info when you can actually get an answer, and other doctors make it feel like a factory but Dr G always takes the time to discuss my concerns and treatment. Highly recommend him!

I liked this doctor. He was very direct, very efficient, very smart. I don't need a lot of hand-holding, I prefer to have an exact plan and that's exactly what he did. He offered his opinion on what we should do and it's 3 weeks later we are already getting started.

Everyone is right about him. He seems snooty and so quick to give patients the least amount of time. I hate being treated like a number or worse like a cow at this place.

very rude, extremely condescending, and gets frustrated with even small questions. You will have to put up with him though as you see many doctors at this clinic. My advice is try to avoid when possible and if you do see him, just be a jerk back to him and very assertive..do what you need to do to get your questions answered even if it means calling him on it or asking to speak to someone else- nice will get you nowhere.
