Dr. Khowong was kind, and helpful. and supportive.

I had a horrible experi nice with this doctor. She was on call the night that I went into the labor and delivery department with back and abdominal pain. I was 24 weeks pregnant. She didn't order an ultrasound or a pelvic exam to see if I was dilated. Instead they discharged me saying that I had a kidney infection. Well it turns out I didn't have a kidney infection but instead was in full blown labor. I delivered my son an hour after I was discharged, in the front seat of a car. He was only 1 pound and 6 ounces. If she had ordered the ultrasound then they would have kept me at the hospital. When we saw her the next day we didn't get an apology or anything from her. So disappointed.

I specifically requested Dr. Khowong after watching all of the "Meet our OB/Gyn Team" videos on the Sutter Health Website. In her video, she seemed like she would provide a calm presence. In reality, she was very rushed, always asking "Okay? Okay?" but never really waiting for an answer and showing blatant irritation whenever I asked a question. She insisted that my chances of having a second miscarriage would greatly increase if I attempted to get pregnant right away, despite the fact that I am young and healthy, and my recent miscarriage was very early, with minimal bleeding or pain. When I asked her to explain the science behind this statement, she doubled down on her position without explaining anything, saying "What's the rush?" My appointment ended with me beginning to cry and her pretending to ignore it by heading for the door and saying, "You can have that blood work done and have them send it to us. Okay? Okay? Okay?" She wasn't even looking me in the eye at this point.

We didn't have a positive experience with Dr. Khowong for a couple reasons. One was that she was often late to the meetings. While at the time we overlooked this it may be something to consider before choosing her. But more importantly was when our twins were born. The game plan we had planned out with her was scratched on delivery day. Instead of doing a natural birth she radically pushed for a c-section. Furthermore when I was having my peak contractions she wasn't in the room but was out smiling and joking with the nurses for 40 minutes. She had me get such a high epirdural that I was unable to push and by the time my contractions passed i had no other option then to get the c-section. I would never use her services again or recommend anyone to go to her.

Dr Khowong was amazing and if not for her I might not be here today! She delivered my second child and it was a way better experience with her and the Sutter staff than it was when I had my son at Kaiser. She was so helpful, caring and knowledgeable. During labor my baby girl's heartbeat dropped and would not go back up. She could have pulled the baby out but instead opted for an emergency c-section. Thank god for that because when they cut me open they found out my uterus had ruptured. She delivered my daughter and was able to stitch and repair my uterus. Had she not decided to do the c-section we wouldn't have known that my uterus ruptured and I probably would have died from internal bleeding by the time they figured it out. It was a very traumatizing experience and my family and I will forever be thankful to her for the life of my daughter and myself. I Highly recommend her!!

LOVE Dr. Khowong. She was my third OB during my pregnancy, and since I know how hard it is to find a GOOD one, I was grateful when I finally did. Always prompt, always cheerful, comfortable as if talking with a friend. I'm looking forward to baby #2 so I can see her again more frequently.

She is very nice and knowledgable, but rushed, don't feel like she is really listening to me, and hard to actually speak with her. Always have to communicate through a third person, which makes it difficult.

Dr. Khowong was very nice and helpful to my wife and me in any questions and concerns we had with my wife's first pregnancy. Every time we came in she had a smile on our face. Always on time. Would recommend.
