Do NOT go to him!! As soon as I got there, the receptionist was rude to me and that should’ve been my first clue. I had a small keloid on my ear that I wanted removed. He didn’t give me any opinions, and didn’t answer any of my questions to the point where I left still not knowing what to do. He got mad at me for “letting it get to this point” and was very rude and hurtful about my keloid. Anytime I asked a question, he’d reply with “I JUST TOLD YOU... etc” even though he still never answered the question. He told me that my ear would never look normal and it was too late to get rid of it completely. I waited 2 months for this appointment and after the 10 minute mark of talking, he says “okay I don’t have all day” and basically kicked me out. I went to a different plastic surgeon and he was very helpful and my ear looks COMPLETELY normal, even though Samuels said that it was hopeless. I cried after I left the consultation because he made me feel so stupid and incompetent. Shouldn’t even call him a doctor. Do yourself a favour and don’t see him.

Dr. Steven Samuels is an incompetent doctor that should guide his practice with empathy and kindness instead of with disdain and dismissal towards his patients. His attitude is appalling to his patients, especially to elder patients and I suggest he demonstrate a little more compassion & patience with a better bed side manner. I would never recommend him for any procedure especially one that involves a senior citizen that needed a small biopsy. He rushed the procedure that caused issues.

Dr. Samuel should not be addressed as a doctor! He was extremely RUDE and ARROGANT. He did not let me speak when I tried to explain my issue. He dismissed me without letting me explain what my GP had already told me and was not at all interested. He did not have my MRI or Ultrasound results and had no interest obtaining them. These would have given him insight into my oozing lump. He asked me if I had had the lump biopsied. When I said no, he didn’t suggest I should. He left me with no answers to this oozing painful lump except to say it would go away on its own. No helpful suggestions on what I could do to help this lump heal. This man does not have a compassionate bone in his body. On the other hand, he is belittling, rude and dismissive. I do not suggest that anyone ever see this doctor. There are many excellent plastic surgeons in Toronto and he is by far the worst doctor I have ever had experience with.

Rude curmudgeon. As egotistical as they come. I would never trust a care provider that hits the tanning bed as hard as he does. DO yourself a huge favour and do a Google search for the hundreds of fantastically more qualified plastic surgeons. This crank is past his prime.

I has a rhinoplasty with Dr Samuel 8 years ago and have not had the courage to leave a bad review until now. Merely saying that he had a bad attitude is the least of the horrors. Upon consultation, I asked about removing the bump from my bridge, minimizing the nostrils and lifting the tip. As I have an ethnic nose, the tip is droopy. He insisted that lifting the tip creates a piggy look-- which I initially believed, but later learned I was totally misled. Years later, I learned that creating more support and structure for the tip, in a natural-looking way, is totally possible-- so it seems Dr Samuel just didn’t want to invest the extra effort.

On the day of surgery, he marked the areas of my nose for surgery with a pen. He forgot to mark my nostrils, so I said, “aren’t you forgetting my nostrils?” Dr Samuel seemed annoyed and replied , “Oh, did we talk about that?” I reminded him that we did. He obviously forgot, which tells me he didn’t review the notes before my surgery to review the individual needs of my case. He simply “wings it!”. For $7000, one would hope for more care.

During my post op visit, he was extremely delicate when removing my cast, causing me lots of pain. When I recoiled from the discomfort, he made me feel petty and stupid. A year later, after my nose healed, the bump on my bridge was still VERY visible. The tip of my nose also swerved to one side. It turns out that I had a deviated septum, which he never bothered correcting or at the very least, informing me in the consultation that it should be fixed. Since he made my bridge more narrow, the deviation was even more obvious than before my surgery. It’s a surgeon’s job to reasonably predict the outcome. If the result would have been better by correcting the deviated septum, I would have paid more-- but he didn’t even raise the issue.

When I made an appointment to address my concerns, he claimed that the bump on my nose is scar tissue and to massage it daily. He also claimed that my deviated tip is just an illusion. He then took out his camera, angled it in a way to make my nose seem more symmetrical, and took a picture. He showed me the picture and assured me that my bridge was straight. However, my own parents, friends and even acquaintances could see my tip was swerved. In any case, I was dismissed.

After weeks of massaging the bridge, like he recommended, it didn’t work. It was clear that the bump was not scar tissue. I returned to his office a second time. Only after crying in his office and expressing that other people notice these major flaws, did he agree to offer a revision. Reputation management, perhaps?

After the revision, all I noticed was that the sides of my nose looked pinched-- like the snout of a Cocker Spaniel. The tip was still really awkward and sausage-like. He merely shaved down my nose with no artistry or passion for his craft. I learned to live with it. I accepted that Dr Samuel is a surgeon who does the least amount of work for the most amount of pay. If there are shortcuts, he will cut corners.

Recently, to undo the damage, I’ve been getting facial fillers in my nose. The fillers have hid my bump, provided more symmetry for my bridge and added structure to my tip. On day, I would love a more permanent solution, but I’m terrified as Dr. Samuel as turned me off surgery forever.

For confidentiality reasons, I wrote this review under a nickname. So if Google is asked to remove the review, for obvious reasons, they can contact me privately and I will verify my name to confirm I was a patient of Dr. Samuel’s.

He fixed a trigger finger for me and did a good job. He is not the warm and fuzzy kind but I liked his off the wall humour. All in all a good experience. No complaints.

This doctor is very rude and has taken almost 1600 dollars for a job he did not due, I had to cancel a surgery due to the weather, and I asked him if he could reschedule and he said no!!! Then he has the odasity to say I will not be getting my money back!! I’m not rich and I paid for this for my daughter to have a breast reduction because of pain in her back. So I DONOT recommend this doctor to anyone.

Dr. Samuel is extremely rude with no manner. He has no patient to answer a very simple question and his attitude is very disturbing and very disrespectful to his patients. I have never seen a rude and arrogant medical doctor like this doctor in my entire life. I never recommend him to any of my friends.

I need other women to know that Dr Samuel should be classified as a butcher not a surgeon. He is very abrupt and rude, but more importantly, he is not a good surgeon and has completely disfigured my breasts. I wanted a routine breast reduction and what he left me with makes me want to cry daily. Worse than that, when he realized the problems, he dismissed them and said it was fine, despite it not being fine. Either way, I'm seeing a younger plastic surgeon now who is fixing the problems that Samuel created. It has been such an awful experience and I hope other people read this before undergoing Surgery with Steve Samuel.
