I wish I could give 10 stars out of 5 for both doctor and staff. Dr. Smith has been our general practitioner for years. He always diagnoses us correctly. Once I went to the emergency room for severe chest pain. They did numerous tests before releasing me without finding anything. When I went to see Dr. Smith, he requested a urine sample, something the emergency room did not. I had a simple bacterial infection. My husband went for an anual physical and made a passing comment that he had a quick chest pain while snowblowing six months prior. Dr. Smith ordered a stress test. Long story short, my husband has had 3 angiograms with balloons and stints. If it wasn't caught when Dr. Smith did, and my husband could have had a heart attach and died. I have a small child that goes to D.r Smith. Dr. Smith and his staff are wonderful with the small children. We've had lots of emergencies and they've always worked us in.

I have a plethora of medical conditions, and moved here from CA with a list of medications and physician notes. Dr. Smith took his time and completely listened to my concerns (as D.O.s do, as opposed to M.D.s) and headed me in the complete right direction(s) for treatment. I wish I didn't have so many conditions that require specialists, because I would use Dr. Smith for all my healthcare in a minute. Kind, compassionate, knowledgeable, the kind of physician you would hope you would receive in Iowa.

The doctor did help me find out that I had herniated disk. The past doctor I seen said it was a pulled muscle. I went to Smith and he sent me for a MRI, and they found the problem and had surgery, so in the long run I have to thank him and have been going to him ever since. I am alittle upset when he changed to Gensis because now I cannot even get an appointment when I need too. He seems to be too busy according to his receptionist. I liked the backwoods kind of doctor because they seemed to care more. I am finding since he changed to Gensis I am now just a $ (dollar) sign. What a shame because he seems to care.

This doctor treated my mother for bronchitis in November and December. She went to his office January 5, and he said she needed to go to the emergency room. Instead of calling an ambulance, he allowed her to wait 30 minutes for a ride to the emergency room (another 35 minutes away). The next day she coded with a periacardial effusion. The next day (thankfully) she had a pluera effusion. The week of January 12th I accompanied her to an appointment to his office. He stated he thought this was all pneumonia related. Since this time she has been diagnosed with lung cancer and COPD. A friend was recently treated there for an ulcer two weeks, when they went for extra tests they were referred for emergency gall bladder surgery.
