Ignore the star ratings. They don't apply to today.
I found her name in my old chart at the Ottawa General Hospital where she did her residency. We met in May 1996 in the emergency department when I was acutely ill with psychiatric medication induced delirium. Unfortunately she didn't recognize it (along with many others). It's hard to understand, because there was ample medical evidence that supported an organic process specifically "anticholinergic syndrome". The ED doctors even noticed it. How did psychiatry miss that?
All I can comment on is her charting and the bias evident in her notes. Her notes were a "somewhat" professional summary of our one and only encounter. Most were thoughtful and a reflection of an author who seemed aware of herself. Some notes were terrible. She accused me of seeking hospital admission and being manipulative. She even doubted my complaints of hallucinations. My symptoms were actually genuine and iatrogenic in nature, a consequence of misdiagnosis and polypharmacy.
Is her charting consistent with that encounter? I cannot say, since I have no recollection of meeting with her.
-- What really stood out was her lack of critical thinking. She refused to challenge the attending's (mis)diagnosis. Residents can do this. There is evidence of it in my records.

Honestly Dr. Sharan has really grown on me when I first saw her I thought a therapist would fix all my problems. As I worked with her I realized she is just a normal (very educated) person sincerely trying to help me. This shift in my thinking reflects what a good therapist she is, I'm much more tolerant of other people and of myself now.

I agree that she zones out or looks like she is falling asleep sometimes lol. That is really annoying and sometimes hurtful. And she always runs late! But, she still somehow manages to get a strong understanding of your situation. She has really helped me come to peace with some issues.

Good doctor but zones out. She was always falling asleep in her chair or it appeared that she was. Just like the person before me, I felt the pressure to keep on talking to avoid the long uncomfortable silence periods.

No social ability. Was truly falling asleep in her chair. Wrote inaccurate and scarring reports which lead to severe discrimination for me. I highly DO NOT recommend this person. Now I know what they mean by "quack."

Like someone before me who rated this doctor, I too, was put into a situation whereby the inaccuracy of her notes put me into a very humiliating experience. She always seemed kinda "not there" during our sessions. I always felt like I had to "keep talking" so prevent the long periods of her silence.

Was very angry with me when I cancelled an appointment and then called back and said I needed to meet after all. Brought it up in the session, resentfully. Has anger issues. Can be sweet and understanding, and can turn on you very swiftly.

Found that she wrote a report dictated by my partner that was totally untrue, and put me in a very bad position legally and morally. Was astounded that should would write a report like that after her second visit with this man who she has agreed has severe mental issues. She was giving him unsolicited legal advice on matters that she was totally unaware of. Will be contacting the college of physicians to fill out a formal complaint.
