Horrible doctor, thankfully she's retired and no longer prescribing serious drugs without informing her clients about the side effects, etc.

Dr. Werry changed my life and made a huge impact. I am writing this because I wanted to look her up and thank her but she retired.

12 years ago, when I was 18 (2006), after a serious suicide overdose attempt and being hospitalized at humber river keele site with a schizophrenia diagnosis. She believed in me, signed my release, and had me see her on a regular basis. She helped me get off all my meds and gave me book recommendations instead. I trusted her and she was the first psych to treat me with so much respect and see me as a whole person. She admitted her out vulnerabilities and what she was curious about, each appointment was an exchange and she really made me feel like an equal which before hand and since I had never experienced with a psych. She hear me, listened deeply and validated my experiences and struggles. I never thought i would live into my 20s. I t urned 30 this year, am doing a grad program (despite dropping out of high school), and have been very proactive in my health and growth. I attribute a lot of that to the experience I had with Dr. Werry. I wish i could get in though with her properly to thank her in person. I can only hope to ever meet such a good doctor who cares so deeply and is so genuine. I hope she is doing well. She really gave me the hope and a trustful relationship I so desperately needed to keep on living.

I am really sorry to hear that Dr. Werry is no longer practicing. She helped me in a time in my life where even though I had no 'mental' problems, I was faced with racial profiling that led me to loose my child. I interacted with her for 7 years, and enjoyed 'talk therapy' with her. I never wanted to see any 'mental doctor' but because of how the Ontario-Canada system intervened in my life, I was glad to end up with her. She never forced drugs on me, and never identified me with crude labels. She aspired the best for me and even encouraged me to return to University as a Mature Student, and while in University she was very supportive when I needed doctor's letters, for different matters.

I really liked interacting with her, she communicated with me like I was her sister and we even talked about struggles she faced, I really liked meeting with her. I just remember that I was disappointed that she withheld some information that family members told her of me that she said she could not release to me and I was very upset with this because I also felt that being transparent can also make one realize who is telling the truth or not.

I completed my first degree under her care, and was very sad to learn that she was no longer practicing. She was fair to me because she did not push medications and even shared the gender disparity between male and female psychiatrists, where the demands on the female doctors were for them to prescribe drugs and meet sales quotas, and for the male doctors, they did whatever they wanted. I respected her sharing this contention in her profession with me, and in some ways I am glad to see her leave an industry that only focuses on dispensing drugs and not actually getting to the root of the problem.

She did prescribe drugs but I refused to take them and just threw them in the garbage and when I did try them my heart almost stopped. She warned me of even having bleeding breasts and the dangers of taking the drugs. She was definatly ethical and should be even the Ontario Medical Commissioner.

I've know Dr Werry for over 10 years. I was intimidated by her at first, as she is a confident powerful woman. But of course you need to have more then a few appointments to build a connection with someone. I suffered through extreme anxiety ,depression & she believed in me. Dr Werry became my main support system and helped me overcome so much. She was determined to get me back on track and made me feel comfortable coming to her office. She has a heart of gold and wants to see everyone succeed in life. Unfortunately she had to stop practicing due to health problems & i can't find anyone life her . I'm still looking!!

I was a patient of Dr. Werry's and she helped me allot! She is very beautiful and yes indeed a powerful women. She stands up for women and children's rights. She is very kind and compassionate. She spoke very highly of her family and gave me allegations t of insight with parenting and letting go of emotions I couldn't of let go of with out her. This women worked very hard to improve my life and was always willing to go an extra mile. I am so thankful to have had her as my doctor. It is a shame she had to stop practicing due to health concerns as she is the only doctor I have had that changed my life to such a degree.

Dr. Werry was more concerned with her aesthetics and body image than she was of the mental state and progress of her patients. Moreover, in times of crises, Dr. Werry abandoned ship.

This doctor almost destroyed my life and totally ruined my relationship with my children. She completely violated Doctor patient confidentiality and behaved in an entirely inappropriate and unprofessional manner. She minimized my issues and I left far worse than before I met her. Do not go to this doctor.
