7/3/14. Had right knee surgery today and Dr. Scaglione is the best!!! A wonderful surgeon with a great bedside manner and his staff is very professional at his office and the ambulatory surgery center. He explained everything to me and my family. Very thorough instructions. So happy I went to him.

Failed to diagnose glenohumeral (shoulder) joint problems. How this MD is listed in Castle Connelly as a top rated "best" doctor is beyond comprehension. Stay away!

I went to about a dozen or so doctors but only Nicholaus Scaglione, diagnosed me in seconds and told me what i have to do? He went over every option with me told me all the risks that would come with it. The Surgery went very well and I am very grateful to him. I came in a week after the surgery he went over everything so i would say he is one of the most professional surgeons i ever met.

I went to Dr. Sgaglione for a problem with my knee as he came highly recommended. I spent 90 minutes in the waiting room and another 20 or so minutes in the exam room. To say I was angry is an understatement. He did not even acknowledge this. He saw something incidental on the MRI, he wrote it down and told me to Google it. I insisted on having him explain it to me. He did, in terminology I could understand. He was very thorough in looking at my x-rays and MRI. His recommendations were clear and precise. While he is, by all accounts, a phenomenal surgeon he lacks bedside manner. His reputation is stellar but he is arrogant and I did not feel comfortable with him at all. His staff on the other hand was outstanding, they have to be in order to compensate for the complete lack of punctuality or for the horrible way his schedule is managed. I don't need to follow up and can't say whether I would go back to him if I needed to or not. Judge for yourself but bring patience, lots of it.

Very good surgeon but NO bedside manner. Was rude and unprofessional prior to surgery. Plenty of other quality surgeons to choose from. He is too pompous because of his reputations and affiliations. Almost every single visit, both prior and post surgery, I waited over 90 minutes in waiting room. One visit was 2 hours and 15 minutes and he never apologized. 5 out of 6 visits I saw people walk out because they were tored of waiting.

Went to Dr Scaglione for shoulder pain.Instead of prescribing conservative care(physical therapy)he recommended exploritory surgery (the MRI was normal)When I woke up from the surgery the doctor was no where to be found.I had no idea what he found and what he repaired(if anything)I was in the worst pain I ever felt in my life. When I called the Dr.the next day he would not tell me what he found during the surgery. He told me"I dont discuss these things on the phone"You ll have to wait a month until your re-eval.Im a dr. also and was appalled at the unprofessional treatment. His attitude and demeanor was totally different before the surgery. It seemed like he didnt want to be bothered.I had to beg one is his staff members for the surgical report just I can see what he did.It turned out that he performed a surgery that is indicated mostly for people who dislocate their shoulder often.I have never dislocated.THE SURGERY MADE MY SHOULDER WORSE AND I HAD TO GO TO ANOTHER DOCTOR WHO HAD TO REDO I
