I am a nurse and I have been searching through pediatricians ever since 2 of my prior pediatricians retired. I don't just trust any doctor. I really have to feel that my children's pediatricians are extremely knowledgeable. If I don't feel that you know your STUFF, I'm on to the next doctor! I got referred to Dr. Trey. I saw him once and knew that he is the best of the best! All 3 of my children now see him and I haven't regretted it! He is very smart, and kind at the same time, which we all know is tough to find both attributes in a Doctor! Someone previously describes him as Humble, and I agree. I also hear he is quite the family man and cares very much for his wife and kids, which makes me trust him all the more! I will never see another Doctor as long as he is around.

Dr. Joe (Trey) Castles is ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL! He has a heart for children. He is thorough and a very humble doctor and one of the top pediatricians in his field. He and his staff are very knowledgeable and they seem to stay on top of the latest medical information. Even though my son is a little fellow, he takes time to build a relationship with him with every visit. He gets down to his level and talks with him. I see his sincerity and gentleness when he communicates with me and my son. He also takes time to share with me any information/concerns along with helpful tips to ensure maximum health--and his advice has worked. I am very thankful that Dr. Castles is my child's pediatrician.

Dr. Castles is a great doctor. We have two children and are very happy with his care. We were with another pediatrician, who moved to Palmetto Peds. We switched also, but we only lasted 6 mos. there. I did not like Palmetto Pediatrics at all. We switched back to Pediatric Associates and chose Dr. Trey. We couldn't be happier. The waiting times can be long at times, but once he gets in our patient room I understand why: he takes the time to answer questions and talk to the children. The whole staff is very helpful and it's very good to know that we can only count on a doctor to see us ANY time. I also think that the remark about Dr Castles trying to generate revenue by asking people to return for no reason has absolutely no merit!

Dr. Trey is the best pediatrician around here! Within 24 hours of my newborn having to be resuscitated at home Dr. Trey found out what caused his heart to stop and was able to get us in home care so that we didn't have to stay at the hospital with a baby who was less than 3 days old. He stayed with us at the hospital until we had a final diagnosis from the specialist and from that time on he has given each of other children the same above and beyond care. As far as waiting to see him, well, yes...I understand we have to wait when there are emergencies and that is fine with me because I know he is giving someone else's child the same loving care he gives to mine. If you don't want to wait then become a doctor yourself and treat your own kids!

To the above poster if you are happy with Substandard care for your child then I am sure you will continue to be very Happy at Sandhills. However, next time your child is sick & it's after hours or on the weekend just know that at Pediatric Associates you would have had a Dr you could call a home,on their cell.....anywhere!!! And no they won't just send you to the ER & say have a nice night. Nope, they will either go to their office....yep even at 10PM or later & see your child or if the situation warrants the ER they will meet you there instead of having you be seen by residents. If having to bring your child back when they are sick is bothersome to you then I am sure substandard care is acceptable. But,just for your FYI (Not that you really care) over the 40+ years that the Children in many generations of my family have gone to Ped Assoc that have been, more than I can count,I have not paid a dime to have my children seen. I am very sad to hear someone say something so untrue.
