excellent doctor really happy with him,very nice and well knowledgeable..

You will not find a more thorough, intelligent doctor, or one with more integrity. Sure his bedside manner could be better, but if you really need an Infectious Disease specialist, all you want a diagnosis and a cure, not a new best friend. Getting hold of him isn't easy, and the clinic runs late (always), but he will work long hours researching, consulting with other doctors, going over labs and files, once you have been seen. I credit Dr. Blackburn with saving my life, which was not easy, and I would trust him with my life again.

Was referred to Stanford Infectious Disease unit for treatment by primary physician. Was seen by Dr Brian Blackburn on several occassions and received treatment. I had emailed him, per his instructions, and my email was disregarded and treated with very little respect (I had asked SPECIFIC questions which were not answered and I even provided a follow-up email with the questions which was simply ignored entirely). The doctor's 'bedside manner' was cold and unfriendly and I felt like I was someone who took a number in a deli to get served and that was it. I had a lot of questions and the doctor's attitude towards addressing my questions was standoff-ish, and it only triggered more anxiety, confusion and concern -- which I was only able to resolve by contacting someone at the CDC. I was disappointed that someone behaves in this manner when patients who require this type of medical attention are naturally in a state of concern and need serious medical treatment.
