Five years ago Dr. Meyer performed surgery on my back very successfully. He is an excellent spine surgeon. However, I am now experiencing excruciating back and leg pain. I called Dr. Meyer's office and left a message. His office never returned my call. I then saw my PCP who did x-ray and MRI. After seeing the results told me I needed to see a spine specialist. I requested Dr. Meyer since he had done my previous surgery. She sent a consult to him. His office immediately called me. The lady said and I quote, "You are 87 years old, you are too old for surgery and Dr. Meyer will not see you." I was appalled! I wasn't asking for surgery but an assessment of my problem and possible treatment options.
Under the Civil Rights Act of 1964, "It is illegal for a healthcare provider to deny a patient treatment based on patient AGE, sex, race, sexual orientation, religion, or national origin."
It is a sad day in our great country when we allow our medical profession to deny healthcare to our citizens because on their age. Also, surgery is not based on age but overall health conditi0ns. And this is a quote from the current spine doctor treating me.

Dr. Meyer and his staff are always so nice, thorough and professional. He and his assistant Lauren have been paramount in fixing my spinal issues.

I found him to be precise and to the point. Not chatty...he is a busy surgeon. I had neck fusion and it turned out beautifully. Scar and all. As long as he can do the surgery well... I am pleased. This is detailed. He knows his stuff. Told me to contact his staff directly for any issues. His staff are wonderful. His nurse practitioner is on it!

Found him to be rude and lacking in compassion!
Think we will be looking a a better doctor that will spend more than 5 minutes with you before he sends you off to another doctor to do his work! That means another appointment and 1 1/2 hr drive! I would not recommend this doctor. Hope you had a better experience but not likely

Dr. Meyer is rude, unprofessional, and has no compassion. He is abrasive in his conversation and has no personality. He did not spend more than a few minutes in the room and could have cared less about my sons care.

saw him for neck issues for a work comp case and he tried to convince me herniated discs shink over the years and all he said was therapy been to other doctors that say surgery so im thinking the company that's paying him is getting their moneys worth !its a shame doctors have no morals and can be bought like this

Was injured at work. Dr. recommended injections at the beginning, which helped but did not last. Had surgery with Dr. Meyer, with immediate pain relief. I was in pain for 8 months, and now I am pain free!!! Dr. Meyer gave my life back while other doctors prior blew me off. Highly recommend. Surgery was painless and went home the same day.

After my surgery and I was still having back pain all he did was write me a script and have a nice day. One year after my surgery all he did was say sorry he could help and told me not to come back and see him and he did not suggest anyone or anything for me. Thanks for nothing and a waste time and money.
