I had a shoulder injury on 12/13/08. X-rays were taken at the emergency room and no breaks were seen. My wife and I went to Dr. Mclaughlin and he sent me to physical therapy. I had shoulder surgery before and I knew this one was bad.I lasted 6 visits of PT and I went for an MRI. We found out I had a full thickness tear through the rotator cuff with considerable retraction. I realize that a certain protocol is to be followed in these matters in order for a doctor to get paid. In my case I believe by going to PT in only made my injury worst. Like I said earlier, I have had shoulder injuries before and I know my own body and I know the pain I was feeling. I know I am not a doctor but I feel as though this should have been handled differently. Anyway, I am scheduled for surgery soon. Oh, he told me I would need open surgery and that pins would be needed for the retracted muscle to attach to. Thanks for listening
