Thunderbay is so lucky to have such a great doctor. I drive from Kenora 5 1/2 hours to see him well worth the trip. His staff are also very helpful and caring. I have nothing but good things to say about him and his office.

Why is Doctor Lai now charging $25.00 to have your INR(international normalised ratio, can also be used to check if you have a blood clotting problem)?The patient was told the charge was for the cost of the machine and strips etc.I"m sure the machine was already paid for.The strips can't cost that much money.The pharmacist wasnt using gloves,and didn't cover his nose with his mask.There are many seniors who cant afford this cost.

Thunder Bay is so fortunate to have this "mini mayo clinic" in their midst. Excellent Dr's and care. Dr. Lai is a wonderful caring and thorough heart Dr. Beautiful facility!

I'm 34 years old and I've been a patient of Dr. Lai since I was a small child. He has been my cardiologist through some pretty scary stuff and he's always been reassuring and respectful and goes the extra mile to ensure that all tests and procedures done are done to protect you. In conversations with him through the years I feel like he's on top of the latest research and he's good at explaining complex situations that the average joe wouldn't understand. If you haven't been keeping up with your end of the bargain in regards to your health expect a witty comment (I appreciate that).

Plays the game. Makes little effort. Good thing there is no window in his office, the computer is bad enough. Swear when you are attended by him he is thinking of somewhere else. Weak effort.

If you want to be belittled and shamed during your results then this is the Dr. for you! Instead of letting me know that my stress Echo showed no abnormalities. He interrogated me but did not listen to my answers and went on to roll his eyes when I tried to explain I am not as active as I would like to be due to stage four endometriosis... He then was baffled why I could hardly complete the exercise test at such a young age(26). When I tried to again explain my chronic pain he cut me off and pointed out the obvious by saying I am 'UNFIT'. (Thanks I know). He then proceeded to tell me to ' go get fit' and left the room. To add a bit of context I am currently in treatment for an eating disorder and learning how to be active again with chronic pain so having this Dr. rub in my face how ' UNFIT' I am sent me into a panic attack that my partner had to help manage. THANKS A BUNCH Dr. Lai. truly impeccable bedside manner...... (sarcasm)

I was truly afraid when I arrived at the clinic, the front end staff with all their smiles and kindness made me feel at ease right away. The care I received was exceptional, by everyone. Dr. Lia himself
Took his time was truly interested in your life and figuring a way for us to work together to get the best results, one thing we have to be Cognitive of is we as patients have to do our part too.
I would highly recommend this clinic and Dr. Lia, thank you the on going care.

Did not open my file and had no idea what my status was while recommend vitamins and I was there to schedule angiogram. This type of appt. Occurred on few occasions. Said I looked good and I was at emergency day before. Didn't open file until I told him this. Dropped me as patient when I got 2nd opinion. Not too professional of a move.

Very Kind Knowledgeable Cardiologist, I saw him right away..I was pretty nervous he made me feel relaxed and explained everything to me. I really like him. He truly cares. The staff is sooo nice. Thanks Dr. Lai and staff I appreciate all your hard work

Dr. Lao was my husband's cardiologist for several years before my husband's death. We couldn't have asked for a better doctor. He always had time for questions. When I was diagnosed with heart disease he took me on after my cardiologist left town. I have never had any problems with any staff or with Dr. Lai. Perhaps you went on a day when a lot of things were going wrong. Let's face it, we all have bad days. Sorry that some of you have had bad experiences but I have been going to see him since 1990 and have never seen anything or had any bad experiences. He was very compassionate when he called me regarding my husband's grim prognosis and impending demise.
