My experience with Dr. Jeffrey Gould was horrendous. AVOID HIM AT ALL COSTS!! My orthopedic surgeon wanted me to see a neurologist for my severe range-of-motion loss in both of my knees. The cause of my range-of-motion loss was later diagnosed by an esteemed professor at the University of Pennsylvania Medical School. As per the Penn professor's diagnosis, my body had a severe and unusual reaction to the Moderna COVID vaccination. The reaction, confirmed by my blood tests, caused the buildup of scar tissue in both of my knees. But I saw Dr. Jeffrey Gould before I had the correct diagnosis.
At the end of my one and only appointment with Dr. Gould, he told me that the cause of my knee contracture was 100% neurological. He was 100% WRONG. I know this because I'm making excellent progress following the treatment recommended by my Penn physician: Use physical therapy to straighten my knees and get walking again. In just 6 months I've progressed from being completely wheelchair-bound; then to standing with support; then to walking with a walker; and now to walking a short distance without assistance. I still have a long way to go to resume normal walking and running again, but my progress is proof that Dr. Gould's "diagnosis" was hilariously wrong. But what is not so hilarious is that he is probably getting other diagnoses wrong as well.
Dr. Gould also told me, after just one cursory 30 minute exam in his office, that I may have ALS. Thank Heavens Dr. Gould was wrong. But what kind of doctor tells you that you might have an incurable and fatal disease, unless he is virtually certain that he is correct??!?!!? The answer is a grossly incompetent and uncaring doctor.
At my exam Dr. Gould concluded that I have neuropathy in both feet. That particular diagnosis was absolutely correct. However... (1) I have had neuropathy in both feet for about 8 years BEFORE I saw Dr. Gould, and it never stopped me from walking or running. Also it has not worsened one iota since I originally developed it. I explained that to Dr. Gould and he totally ignored it. (2) The neuropathy in my feet has NOTHING to do with my knee range-of-motion problem. That fact was confirmed by a neurologist I saw at Abington Hospital two months after I saw Dr. Gould. The Abington neurologist also confirmed that I definitely do not have ALS. (3) Dr. Gould ordered an lab test, which I foolishly took. I was rattled by his phony ALS "diagnosis" so I took the lab test. The lab test cost over six thousand dollars!!!!! The lab test confirmed the neuropathy in my feet but was totally useless in diagnosing the cause of my range-of-motion loss. The information provided by the test also merely confirmed something I'd known for at least 8 years; namely that I had a medical condition that hasn't worsened one iota since developing it. In other words, I was given a $6,000 bill, by Doylestown Hospital, for totally useless information.
I'm one of the lucky ones because I was able to see two physicians (the ones at Penn and Abington) who set me on the right path, and I was eventually able to get the treatment I need. But forewarned is forearmed, and that's why I'm posting my experience here. Please consider yourself forewarned about both Dr. Gould and Doylestown Hospital.
I've noticed that on many of these Google reviews Doylestown Hospital replies with a canned response, stating that they "always strive to put our patient's needs first." That's baloney. If Doylestown Hospital "always" puts their patient's needs first: (1) They wouldn't have people like Dr. Gould on their staff and (2) They would warn their patients that an hour-long noninvasive lab test will cost over $6,000.00. Especially a lab test that was medically unnecessary, as this one was.

He is a very angry doctor, he wants you to follow what he tells you and really doesn't like questions. If he gets angry at you, when it is his staff fault he will not order the medication refill you need.

This doctor does not listen to his patients-he displays a VERY uncaring and could not be bothered attitude-I would NOT recommend him to anyone! Recently both of his PA's resigned and went elsewhere- they were the glue in that office, no wonder why they left!!
