As others have said, I did not have a good experience with his staff. The receptionist did not let me know that they expected full payment up front (and then submit for the insurance later) until I arrived at the office. The procedure was $1550, so not a small sum. The portion that is not covered by my own insurance is covered by my wife's insurance, but the receptionist did not submit that portion of the claim, even though she said that she had, so I've had to go through a big hassle to get that money reimbursed. The dentist himself did a good job of the root canal (which is obviously the most important thing), but he's a bit of an idiot personally and doesn't inspire a lot of confidence by the way he talks with you.

First off, full disclosure: I did not see Dr. Nerman so cannot vouch for him. The purpose of this review is to comment on his unfortunate selection of staff. My regular dentist (in New West) referred me to see Dr. Nerman for a root canal the day before my 3-week vacation. As the timing and cost of the procedure was more than what I was prepared to deal with just before the holidays, I wanted to seek a second opinion. I informed my dentist of my preference and requested a deferral on my appointment with Dr. Nerman. I was able to make an appointment with my old dentist (in downtown Vancouver) on Tuesday evening. Dr. Nerman’s receptionist then called me directly to emphasize the severity of the situation and offered to book me in on Wednesday morning (I fly out in the evening). I informed her of my appointment with my old dentist the night before and advised that I may need to cancel. As it happened, my old dentist confirmed the need for the treatment and had the time to complete the procedure within my appointment time and within the regular fees covered by my insurance. Of course, I called the specialist’s office as soon as I could after the procedure as I was mindful that my appointment was to be the next morning. As it was after-hours for Dr. Nerman, I left a voicemail and thanked them for their understanding. I then received a super angry call in the morning from the receptionist telling me that the doctor has been waiting for me for an hour (it was 8:30am and my appointment was to be at 9:30am) and that I was unprofessional. She was so rude and abrasive even as I tried to clarify what happened that I was quite taken aback. Excuse me? Who exactly is unprofessional here? This was my first root canal so of course I was nervous. It turned out however that it was a very straightforward procedure and did not even require a specialist. My regular dentist only referred me because she did not have the capacity to treat me in the short time I had before departing. And of course, I would prefer not to have to spend double the fees to see a specialist when I could get the same service covered by my insurance. I would NEVER consider coming to this office for any reason now, which is too bad for Dr. Nerman.

Had to have a root canal done through my crown. Got in within a week. Receptionist was very helpful, explained about costs and coverage from my plan.
I was called about 15 min after my scheduled time, but all work, was done in one appointment.
Dr Nerman explained the procedure and checked with me during to make sure i was ok.
Would highly reccomend himđź‘Ť

Don't even know why I had to see him in his office. Before I even saw him I had to pay out of pocket for a private CT scan, then paid him for a 30-second visit in which he told me he couldn't help me and I had to go to an oral surgeon. Like you couldn't have just called?

And then the fun began. His assistant forgot to send my claim in to my insurance until my first phone call two weeks after my appointment; she raised her voice at me, interrupted and talked over me, and said she had put everything in the day after my appointment. She hadn't. I received my refund from my insurance company two days after my call. Interesting timing! Thanks for lying about it tho!

She was also supposed to send my scans to my regular dentist so she could refer me to a surgeon, but nearly a month later and 4 phone calls about it and she still hadn't. (She'll yell over you, cut you off and say she'll call you back, acting like she's Just Too Busy. She won't!)

I eventually had to get my dentist's office to call her because I had made 4 phone calls and she still hadn't sent the scans. Turns out she had sent them, to the WRONG DENTIST. This is after I confirmed who my dentist was, and her info is also listed on my intake form, holy shit lady how are you this bad at your job??!!

She's made up excuses every time I've called, "forgotten" to call me back on two occasions, confused me with another patient and suggested that the delay was somehow my fault. It's absolutely bonkers. I shouldn't need to call 4+ times and then *get my dentist to call* just to get someone to do an extremely simple task of faxing a document.

Thanks for prolonging my pain another couple months tho!

This doctor did not see me for six weeks from the original scheduled appt. his receptionist indicated I needed oral surgery but not an implant. He had not done an exam just reviewed xrays. When I saw him I explained I would need some information before going ahead with the procedure. He attempted to examine my gums around my abscess and acted disgusted when I jumped. Very poor bedside manner. He then proceeded to freeze me and explained he wouldn’t know what was needed and I may need an implant. After a two second exam he indicated my tooth was cracked in two places and I would need an implant. He then escorted me to the reception area without bothering to explain when this could be done and how much it may cost.
I would never recommend this dentist!!!!! He comes to our area once per month and is not worth your time.

I get around in a power wheelchair and showed up late in the afternoon referred from another dentist for an relatively unannounced check to see if my throbbing tooth required a root canal and it sure did Dr Nerman had to whresle his chair aside to get mine in. He said it would take 45 min. but I didn't expect it to be done then as it as almost 5 o'clock. I said OK and 45 min latter 3 roots where repaired and the pain was going away. Dr Nerman and his staff went way beyond the call of courteous professional duty and very helpful with everything I needed. I am very grateful for all the help I received that day. Highly respected.

Great experience. Less painful than a regular doctor and less visits, thus almost same price as a regular dentist. He reimbursed part of the operation because of a failed root canal.

Dr. Nerman was awesome! His needle injections are painless, he was very focused and considerate of my nervousness. His receptionist got a bit short with me when I asked her some questions.

My experience at this clinic was excellent! The staff is extremely knowledgeable and professional. They see you when your regular dentist finds the job of your root canal to tough to do or finnish. I loved the receptionist (Marianne) as she was super friendly and kind. Dr. Nerman has the ability to put you at ease with his years of experience in his field. I would recommend everyone to this office as he does a perfect job and you can just fall asleep while having a root canal.
