Dr. Shiffman did not inform me of an office procedure and went a head with the procedure. His office billed my insurance and me for a non informed procedure. I don't recommend this shady doctor.

I was appalled at the way this doctor treated my daughter and I. I took my 17 year old daughter to see Dr. Schiffman for recurring UTI, bladder discomfort. First of all he was very condescending to us as we described what was going on. He then told her to take off her pants and underwear, not telling her what he was going to do. He came in the room and catheterized her to get urine without warning her what was about to happen, then preceded to do a vaginal exam with no warning. When she gasped from pain/shock...he said, "Oh did that hurt?" So very rude and unsensitive. She is 17 and has never had a vaginal exam or been catheterized....a little explaining would have made the experience much better. So as we were asking questions and describing things he raised his voice at us as if we are stupid and I have been a RN for 20 years!!! I asked for something for the pain/spasms and he refused to give it to her, he said that she would be better in a couple of days. He slapped her leg and told her she could get dressed which was very unprofessional. We both left there in tears, and I will never be going back. Days later his office called and the antibiotics he put her on were not the correct ones for the bacteria that was growing so she went all those days with no treatment and nothing for the pain and discomfort.

AVOID. Unfriendly, rude. Repeats diagnostic tests due to his own lack of diligence. Loses tests results, then repeats them. My elderly mother had recurring UTIs and he just stopped treating, stopped prescribing antibiotics even though he knew she still had an infection. We had to take her the ER. They immediately put her on fluids & IV antibiotics. And after several hours she was sent home with a Rx antibiotic. They cared. Dr Schiffman is indifferent to the elderly and totally incompetent.

I had a very bad experience with this doctor. He lied to me what the operation would cost. He botched the operation itself, and did not remove my kidney stone. After the operation, I had to chase him down for 30+ hours before he would even talk to me. The operation left me bleeding and in agony for several days. When I was able to contact him, he was dismissive of my pain and would not prescribe any pain relief. I had to hire another doctor to operate again and remove the stone.
