One of the best I have ever been to. Only for this doctor, I wouldn’t be here today, I wouldn’t be here 11-12 years ago this man has saved my life. I’ll always say, he is one of the best… every possible test that was needed to determine what was wrong, he did it and got down to the bottom of it … all in one day in Carbonear hospital!! And had me in ST.Johns hospital where I was to have emergency surgery that day, where I ended up in a 8 day induced coma.. to save my life! I have scars to show.. and I’m proud of them! It’s a reminder how lucky and fortunate to have a second chance at life!!! Dr.Fowler.. forever grateful!

I was referred to Dr. Fowler throught the ER and found the tests and service he gave were excellent. Throughout COVID he was always available for me. I realized today that I have a letter from Eastern Health about an appointment this week but never had a reminder call from Eastern Health. Decided to call his office to confirm the appointment. I get an automated message saying he is now with Proactive and not at the hospital. I call the number at Proactive and get another automated message that he is not available and his practice is permanently closing on October 15, 2021. On one hand, I hope he is okay. On the other hand, I am frustrated at the poor level of communication. I have no idea if I still have an appointment and I have left messages at the Proactive number and the Customer Care at the hospital. So many balls dropped here.

Top notch! He had me scheduled for a Spetoplasty before Covid which had everything cancelled. As soon as things opened up slowly he got me in shortly thereafter and booked the surgery again. He explained the process very thoroughly and had all the time in the world to answer any questions or concerns I had. Pre-Op and Post-Op I couldn't have asked for anything or anyone better. Extremely satisfied and found Dr. Fowler to be the complete opposite of the negative reviews others have left.

For a doctor who is responsible for dealing with many hard of hearing and deaf people he has no idea how to talk or relate to patients. He talked to himself more than patients, very unprofessional and after 2 years of trying to get help had to find another specialist... wasted my time seeing him.

Nasty man, not helpful, just very domineering and would take no questions. Also, the real reason for my being referred there was NEVER addressed after 3 visits!!!!

I was initially sent to Dr. Fowler from emerg. In my initial meeting with him, that my husband attended with me, I found him to be very thorough. Referred me for many tests to get to the problem of my issue. A week later, had gotten a call from his office saying that he wanted to see me to go over results from BP monitor. Before my follow up appointment, I was in emerg again with issues similar (but a little worse) to the first time. When I went to my appointment with him, his "discussion" he wanted to have with me about my BP was to tell me it was normal, and that the series of other tests will show a clearer picture. A 30 second meeting! However, when I went on to explain to him that I had been to emerg just days before with the same symptoms of the first emerg visit, he said that neither my husband or I had disclosed ANY of that and got a little upset that I didn't say anything about these issues from the start. I tried to tell him that both my husband and I sat with him and discussed this, and he said he had nothing wrote in his notes about it, and went on to say that he can only help me if I tell him the full picture. He then said for me to go back to my family doctor, tell her what's going on, and get her to refer me on to a different department. This appointment made my husband and I extremely frustrated... mad... angry. Nevermind the fact that this appointment was set up just to tell me that my BP is NORMAL, but then to tell me that information and details were never disclosed to him. I will be seeking an appointment with my family doctor, and will ensure that I do NOT have to have another meeting with Dr. Fowler.
