I have had him as a doc in spokane for three years, but today was the last straw for me. After weeks of suffering pain in my upper right abdomen, throwing up bile, constant burping, elevated liver numbers, and on top of this a horrible case of strep throat, I scheduled an appointment with him. I told him my symptoms and he immediately pinned it on a mild medication he had prescribed me for my crohn's disease. I was honest with him and told him that I had forgotten to get it refilled for over a month, and before that I was very bad about taking it. He yelled at me, told me he should drop me as a patient, yet continued to say it was the medication causing my problems. After further prodding, he concluded that it was just stress because "girls get that a lot" and that i was a "big girl" and could "deal with it". He completely dismissed me and left me with no answers. I have always had my issues with his sexist and misogynistic ways (ex.calling me "princess"), but this did it for me.

I was referred to this Doctor, who seemed to be very helpful at first. We did a battery of tests and he kept prescribing very expensive drugs and tests, thankfully I am insured. He kept saying I had Crones , even though 2 tests said otherwise. The final straw, was when I told him my symptoms and he started yelling at me, telling me I did not have a PHD at the end of my name and so I know nothing and he knows how I feel, not me. I finally went to another Doctor , who prescribed an anti-biotic and my problem was solved. 2 years later still no problems.

Very knowledgeable and careful. Over the course of several sessions moved through an assessment plan of eliminating diagnoses until we reached a conclusion. Walked me through it every step of the way, explaining everything, answering all my questions. Who could ask more of a physician.

My mom is 60 and doesn't always remember all that she wants to say to the doctor, so she asked me to come see the doctor with her. When we got in there, he listened for about 2.5 seconds, heard that two of her siblings had died recently and told her she was stressed and needed to see a pysch. He dismissed her symptoms, which include chest pain, stomach pain, white stool, burping, nausea and dizziness. I spoke up to help her and he told me to basically shut up, then told my mom that "at the risk of alienating her, this is why I usually don't allow family into my rooms." (So he can berate his patients in private!) Then he told her to reduce her stress. He said that guys don't internalize stress. Women do. He said that guys would just punch a hole in a wall and be done with it, leaving no doubt which camp he falls into! He told her her burping was because she was swallowing air, and her stools were because she was tying her intestines in knots due to stress! Worst Doctor I've ever seen!

Went to appointment several years ago. I had to use the restroom so the nurse showed me where it was. while I was gone, my friend who took me waited in the exam room. there was a container of hand sanitizer in there, so my friend used it. When the nurse brought me back, she disappeared, then returned and ordered my friend out of the room. Fitterer came in, got in my face and started accusing me of drinking and that is why I had pancreatitis. He shouted at me that my friend reeked of alcohol that is why they sent her to the waiting room. Neither of us have had a drink since 1986, this was the most insulting, ridiculous, and idiotic episode I have ever experienced. Fitterer is an idiot, so is his nurse. I would not go to a doctor who sticks his hands anywhere who did not even know what his own hand sanitizer in his exam rooms on the counter smelled like. He is a baffoon and an idiot. Should be working in the morgue with his wife, he has no sense what so ever.
