I started my visit with dealing with Dr Carroll’s South African receptionist who would be the rudest receptionist I have ever dealt with and I have been seeing specialists for the last 45 years. One hour later and I finally see the doctor. Such a rude and arrogant man. I will definitely not be returning to see him.

Well! Well! Well Dr Carrol, what do you know.

After finding out you are the rudest, most obnoxious person – notice I refuse to say Dr because you need to go back to Uni again – and Mis-Diagnosing me, a year on, I finally found a Specialist who specializes in Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders. The result – I DO have Parkinson’s Disease. A condition that I went to see you for but you were more interested in telling me I didn’t have the Disease before I had even opened my mouth to say good morning,

All this time I could have been having treatment, but your misdiagnosis a year ago, resulted in me not receiving the proper medication for my condition which in turn resulted in making my condition worsen.

So much so has my condition worsened that my Specialist laughed when I mentioned your name. Apparently your reputation had preceded me and is well known by other Specialists in that area. What a revelation that is.

You need to seriously think about retiring – many of your reviews reveal this. You’re not worth tuppence as a Dr, in fact you disgrace the Profession.

Sincerely

Suzanne Rex

I’ve been seen by Dr Carroll 3 times over 12 months. He doesn’t listen. He is one of the most rude and abrasive people I have ever met. He has given me three different diagnoses in that time, none of which make sense, meanwhile my condition worsens.. I am desperately seeking an alternative neurologist and will not be returning. He should not be allowed in the vicinity of sick people.

Patronising, condescending, rude, and clueless. Most likely senile, should have retired years ago, or preferably never been born. Never in my life have I met someone so arrogant and useless.

Very disappointed in our 14 month dealings with Prof Carroll. Incorrect diagnosis. Took the neurologist at Fiona Stanley Fremantle one hour to make the correct diagnosis

My teenage son had an epilepsy seizure 1.5 years ago, and we have been seeing Dr. Caroll ever since. Maybe he is blunt at times, but he is 100% caring, knowledgeable and compassionate. I feel my son is in good hands, although I secretly hope his diagnosis is not here to stay. I can`t recommend him highly enough.

I recently saw this dr who also felt the symptoms I described were psychological and advised me to stop obsessing about myself by taking regular walks. If this is true, then so be it but Why not suggest a more responsible course of action? A mentally ill person (if that’s what I am) can’t just stop subconscious thoughts so distorted, that the are causing real physical symptoms (fainting spells)I f I and am indeed neurotic (which is news to me and my nearest & dearest!) then clearly I need to see a psychiatrist or some other mental health professional. After all, and what ever their origin, the physical symptoms are real. What if I faint while I’m driving? Unhelpful, Dr C!

Met Dr Carroll today for the first time and wasnt sure what to expect. After seeing him he has put my mind at ease on a few things. Still investigating, but i have every confidence in him as he is obviously very good at what he does and i wouldnt hesitate to recommend this lovely Dr to anyone. Thank you Dr Carroll...Maureen McCluskey

I saw Dr Carroll 29 years ago after suffering a brain injury 2 years prior to my visit. After improving significantly following my injury I started to regress and could not get any definite diagnosis from a number of different specialists. I was eventually referred to Dr Carroll and after undergoing an MRI he came to the conclusion that I had developed hydrocephalus. This normally happens immediately after a brain injury, not 2 years later - even my neurosurgeon didn’t think it was possible. Dr Carroll insisted his diagnosis was correct so the operation went ahead and he was right. Dr. Carroll saved my life and thanks to his diagnosis it prevented the injury causing any long term disabilities. I think some patients seem to be a little over sensitive. Putting up with a slightly brusk manner is a small price to pay for getting a consultation from such a brilliant doctor.
