I was a patient of him in 1975 with second child I was living with my common law husband. He wanted my to get an abortion I decided. Today that child a girl has her Master in Occupational Therapy married to a family physician a mother of two. She work as director for children’s health. The best decision I made was walking out of that office.

Dr Sutherland is great! he is direct and to the point with just the right amount of dry humor. I would not want another doctor as he is always on point with a helpful staff and I thank them very much for the services.

I had Dr.Sutherland over 35 years as a doctor. He was great at alpha street, things seriously went down hill when he got the clinic. The wait times were unreal!! I had a 1 o'clock appointment, I was out at 6 o'clock and they closed at 5 o'clock!! He lost priveledges at the hospital and lab which complicated my care. Referrals were hard to get. For a little while there he could not prescribe narcotics, due to over prescribing. He was never rude to me, but he had the opinion that most health concerns would work themselves out without intervention. I needed a form filled out to have 2 weeks paid sick time from work, it cost me $300! I liked that he knew my entire families health history, I just felt he wasn't up to date on new meds and/or treatments. He had a fill in nurse to cover holidays etc and I would often hear her gossiping about other patients with staff and other patients. I thought it was disgusting, even tho my life was boring and I had nothing to hide. I am no longer a patient, as I needed more care than he could provide. I do wish him the best of luck, I do feel he tries his best with little support from the community. If he is reading this, I would encourage him to retire and enjoy it!! Keep being you!!

Ken Sutherland is the sort of incompetent, arrogant fossil that makes people dislike and distrust doctors. He’s a classic case of a guy who honestly believes he knows the correct way to do everything, and not just in medicine: he’ll drily bloviate on any subject you care to name and let you know the “truth”. If you present counterfacts, in, say, your own area of training, he’ll glaze over or get angry. He overbills, routinely. As if a doctor’s salary wasn’t sufficient, for many years he was the head of the local Amway pyramid, which product he sold to his patients, an ethical breach that boggles the mind. One suspects that provincial licensure is lenient on more rural doctors, but honestly, Ken is so unskilled and immoral it isn’t clear he should have been granted his medical credentials to begin with.

Rude, arrogant, condescending. All I wanted was a prescription for Dukoral, a vaccine against cholera and E. Coli that many people take when travelling outside the country. Since I don't have a family physician (it's impossible to find one in Owen Sound that's taking new patients, but that's another rant), I decided to go to this walk-in clinic. I made an appointment for the next day, and arrived about ten minutes early, but I had to wait about an hour before anyone could see me. After I'd been sitting in the waiting room for over half an hour, a woman walks in, one of his regular patients I think because the staff knew her, who didn't have an appointment, but they saw her right away. I had to wait another half an hour, even though I had an appointment. I wouldn't have minded that so much if they'd had the courtesy to at least apologize for the long wait, but nope, no apology. So finally I see the nurse (I guess she was a nurse, she didn't say, or even introduce herself), who talks to me for 5 or 10 minutes, then says I have to see the doctor. Fair enough, it's a prescription. So I had to wait some more. Finally he walks in and starts asking all kinds of questions about my medical history and that of my parents, siblings, etc. OK, that's fine, even though it didn't really seem necessary. But he kept repeating questions, as if he's trying to trip me up like a cop or something. Have I ever been arrested for DUI? Have I ever been in rehab? All I wanted was a prescription for a harmless vaccine. You can't get high on Dukoral, at least as far as I know. Finally, he gives me the prescription, but also fills out this form for about 20 different lab tests, no explanation why or what they're for. Maybe he thinks I'm a crack-head or alcoholic or something. I got my prescription filled, which was all I wanted, but I'll be damned in I go back for those lab tests, or ever go back to the clinic again. Avoid this place at all costs.

Excellent Doctor. He is a very knowledgeable man as is his staff.. His nurse Kelly is amazing! She herself is a warrior tackling cancer herself but yet such an amazingly positive woman! Thank you for that breath of fresh air, you gave me strength. Thank you Dr. Sutherland for the excellent care as well!

If I could guess I'd say he's a medical doctor war veteran. He's very meticulous and knowledgeable about most things.
