Terrible bed-side manner, at least as a resident in Rockyview. Abrupt, never explains, does not inspire confidence. Only another doctor can comment on her abilities as a doctor but from the family's point of view she's a charlatan. When my turn comes to go to Rockyview, I definately ask for another doctor if she is assigned to me.

She was assigned to our developmentally disabled family member when he was in the Rockyview Hospital. All she wanted to do was give up on him and send him to Palliative Care. We stood our ground on care and he has survived. He may not be important to her but he is an important member of our family. If you get her at the Rockyview, ask for another dr.

Very limited knowledge, does not seem to know my medical history or what is going on. She seemed to give recommendations based on what is "always done". When I asked some questions, to clarify, she became abrupt and very offended, as if I had insulted her in some grand way.

Dr. Basinger has been looking after 3 generations of my family. I have had a close relationship with her for many years as she delivered my 2 boys, provided palliative care for my MOM when she was dying. She has provided exceptional care to my husband when he was hospitalized with pneumonia.

I was a patient of Dr. Basinger for 20 years or so, unhappy for the last 10 years at least. Finally decided enough was enough and have had a wonderful new family Dr. for the past 4 years. Who knew a yearly physical could be thorough, with time to discuss concerns, caring...everything Dr. Basinger was NOT. She always rushed me through, didn't even seem to recognize me or know any of my medical history. When she moved to the walk in clinic and I waited for 2 hours to see her (saw her "around", didn't seem to be seeing patients), I knew I had had enough. DO NOT see Dr. Basinger!

My family and I have had Dr Basinger as a family doctor for almost 20 years now. She can be very nice but we found our doctor appointments were often rushed and we felt "passed over" like a busy mother with a child underfoot. Classic example - Dr Basinger's locum doctor easily sized up my health issues and referred me to a specialist who rid me of an easily fixed endocrine problem I had been plagued with for almost 8 years! After so many frustrating years of not having our family's medical issues addressed, we have packed up and found another family doctor. I am so relieved, as is the rest of the family, to have found a new and thoroughly competent family doctor who makes us feel like our health really is a concern to her.

While as I think Dr. Basinger is a nice woman, as a Doctor, she is terrible. I have been seeing her my whole life as has my mother, grandmother and other family members and yet when I come in, she has no clue who I am. Nor does she know my medical history as she doesn't bother to read my chart before she comes in. My appointments consist of waiting at least an hour for a 5 min whirlwind in which I'm written a prescription I'm not even sure I need. I was willing to overlook her tardiness, abruptness, and hostile staff but when she repetitively pushed me to have an abortion (a birth abnormality was detected) I was truly offended. I felt I had to be very stern in repeatedly stating at various apt.s that I would not be aborting my child. While as he did need surgery he is now a completely healthy and happy 3 year with no fallow up. While as maybe she was a great doctor in the beginning of her career, I no longer feel she has the same passion to be looking after my family and I.

Very rushed. Does not take the time to discuss concerns. Fails to review medical history chart prior to appointments, as she keeps asking medical questions to which she has been given answers on many prior visits (ie. queries when was your last period, when I had a hysterectomy over 15 years ago).
