This rate for this doctor Dr Bushwick was a negative result that in 2003 was bad for my Daughter she can't remember what has happened in surgery. But I rememberd was when she was playing with a toy but when she heard his voice she was upset and threw a toy at his head he ducked it but when tried to opened her jaw he went hard enough that I yelled at him to stop he did but when went to the reception an said I said that when I told them I don't want to see him again they said that I wasn't the only one .I personally don't think that you want this doctor.

I was traumatized by him as a child which led to my fear of going to the dentist as an adult - I'm in my 30's now. He was always rough handed, aggressive and just unpleasant. As a pediatric dentist, you'd know how to talk to kids to calm their nerves and put them at ease. Looking back now, I realize how traumatizing the whole experience was for me as a child.

When I was a child, about 30 years ago I was referred to this dentist because he was supposed to specialize in child dental care. It was some of the most traumatizing events I can remember. My mom use to have to keep the visit a secret until she was taking me to the appointment. Upon arrival you could hear kids crying and screaming from the offices. He would never let my mom come into the room and he would hit me if I was uncooperative or crying. I can not believe he is still practicing.

When I was a kid (9 years old in the early 80's), I had some work done with a couple fillings. He must not have put enough freezing in because when he started drilling, I had pain that I've never felt before that, excruciating. You would think he would give another injection of freezing, but no, he backhanded me across the upper arm (hard) and yelled, "Shut up! It doesn't hurt!", loud enough for the people in the waiting room to hear. His chair-side manner is horrific at best. One good thing about him though is that everytime you saw him you'd get a complimentary flossing...from the hair on his fingers between the knuckles....

Everybody in this office is always lovely and doing a great job with my now 7 yr old daughter. She had a cavity 3 years ago and was referred here by our family dentist, best thing ever. She looks forward to her visits now.

My son was a patient of Dr. Hustwitt's for a few years. Dr Hustwitt was his 2nd dentist. My son refused to open his mouth for the first dentist he went to. The Dentist refused to even try and referred us to Dr. Hustwitt. It was the best thing that could have happened ! My son opened his mouth with no problem for Dr. Hustwitt and I credit him as the reason for my son's lack of fear when going to the dentist. Thank you, Dr. Hustwitt !!

I have been going to Dr. Hustwit since I was about 4. I have been there my entire childhood and now into my adult life. He has been gracious enough to allow me to stay with him as a patient because I enjoy his services and staff so much! Growing up I loved going to the dentist and it was because of this man! He was always very efficient and would make me feel at ease. His staff are great with kids and make the procedure seem less scary.
The only critique I have about Dr. Hustwit would be he is a little bit rough (i.e. pushing down on your jaw, really stretching your lips etc) and I don't think he realizes. Other than the few times I've experienced his rough handling, he has done great work and referred me to other awesome specialists for other work.
A critique on his office would be punctuality. Over all the years I've went there they always seem to be running behind, sometimes to the point I have had to leave my appointment and not even be seen because I would be late for work. I understand appointments may take longer than expected with children especially but I would not to have to wait for a long duration for every appointment I ever make.
All the things aside I still love him as a dentist, and i have beautiful teeth because of him.

I don't recall much during this because of how traumatic the experience was for me. It was about 2003 I always had jaw issues (even in current adulthood) and he did a surgery on me but I cannot remember anything that occurred but my mother said that after the surgery I was playing with a toy and when I heard his voice I paled, got upset and threw a toy at his head, apparently he dodged it but in her recollections he would basically pry open my jaw, hard. It was hard enough that my mother yelled at him to stop and he did but when she went to the reception and told them she don't want him again they said that she wasn't the only one that had a issue. My mother also left a rating on the same day as this one, her autocorrect just typed a different name.
