Dr. Berkelhammer performed a colonoscopy on me in April 2021. Before the colonoscopy, I told Dr. Berkelhammer I thought I had colon cancer because of my unexplained weight loss, abdominal distension and pain, anemia, change in bowel habits, diarrhea, and black stools. After the colonoscopy, Dr. Berkelhammer said definitively that there was no cancer. He did not explain why I was experiencing symptoms of colon cancer, and he did not address the symptoms. In October 2021, I had emergency surgery for cecal volvulus. When the surgeon removed the twisted part of the colon, he found a malignant tumor, which caused the cecal volvulus, inside the twisted part. I have stage 4 cancer. After surgery I got sepsis and almost died. I suffered severe physical, mental, and emotional pain while hospitalized. If Dr. Berkelhammer had found the tumor, I could have avoided the cecal volvulus surgery, the subsequent complications, and much pain and suffering.

He is never on time and I don't think he is very nice. He thinks highly of himself! I don't think he is a good doctor at all. I had a gallbladder removed and I kept telling about the pain and he just didn't think it was anything. I also have a hernia and it will now be repaired by another doctor because he let it go and I thought I needed surgery. His bedside manner sucks!

I am proud to recommended Dr. Berkelhammer as he is the best doctor with so much knowledge and understanding. He took the time to listen and really cared about my current condition. I am grateful to have found him and feeling better already. He is a busy man but worth the wait in my opinion. I am very particular highly opinionated when it comes to doctors but Dr. Berkelhammer is by far the best at what he does. I feel blessed to have found him.

Best doctor in Chicago. He does not miss a thing, in fact this could be the most knowledgeable individual I have ever met. If the world had more doctors like this it would be a healthier place.
