I have seen Dr. Booth for several years for panhypopituitarism which is an extremely rare condition where my pituitary doesn’t produce growth hormone, adrenaline, thyroid hormone or sex hormones. He felt that my steroid dose to replace my adrenaline that my body was tested at making zero naturally when I was first diagnosed, was too high and I had Cushings disease. Over the course of a few years, he forced me to continue decreasing my steroid dose even though I got sicker and sicker the more I decreased. He kept going on about the danger of getting diabetes from too high a dose but never tested my blood sugar. He refused to test my cortisol/adrenaline levels at all even though I requested it yet stated he had no idea what dosage I should actually be on while decreasing steroids. While my dosage was being decreased, he refused to listen to my concerns about my deteriorating health. I was extremely suicidal and he shrugged it off, saying I was just going through “a little bit of discomfort “ (his exact words). When he made me decrease, I had tapered down in total from 20mg to 15mg of steroids, he wanted to push me even further down on my pills and by that time I had lost the use of two finger joints (which has been permanent), I also found out later that I didn’t even have Cushings anyways!

I have been with Dr. Booth since he came to Hamilton. Probably the best doctor I have ever seen and I will be very saddened when he retires. My health is excellent and I have far outlived (20 years) the life expectancy that I was given when first diagnosed.

Gives little-to-no info, does not prepare ahead of time and is usually reading and guessing the paperwork. scoffs at questions asked. We're dealing with cancer, thanks for making us feel like jerks for actually having questions. Everyone is better off when this man retires.

Receptionist also gives us results before the appointment, which was incorrect and gave us false hope we didn't need to get.

He seems like he knows what he's talking about, but he's not retired yet, and needs to act as such.

One of the best doctors that I have ever seen. Dr. Booth is very helpful, professional and informative. I have no issues at all that are negative.

I am now seeing Dr. Booth through my 2nd pregnancy, as I am a type 1 diabetic. I just had an appt. With dr. Booth, and was thoroughly UNIMPRESSED to say the least. I was first seen by a fellow, who was very pleasant but uninformed as to why I was in the clinic (high risk pregnancy due to T1D). I tried to answer his question adequately with explanation when needed. (A little background, I am 23weeks pregnant and this past week have hit insulin resistance thus resulting in higher BS readings which I am in of changing insulin etc. Therefore my estimated ranges that I gave to the fellow were higher than my normal). After waiting 45 mins for dr. Booth to come in, not even sit down but stand in front of the door all he could say to me was you really need to get a regular endo (I'm in the process of switching endos at the moment) and you need to get your blood sugars under control...thanks dr. Booth (story of a type 1 diabetics life). He never once discussed the resistance in pregnancy that I am experiencing and never once gave ANY tips as to how I should address this sudden change in my numbers. Found him very unprofessional, and like he didnt have the time of day to give me. Was not helpful at all.
That being said, all of the diabetic nurses in the clinic are wonderful and very helpful and truly empathetic to my situation, I will continue to see them, but see no need to see dr. Booth any longer.

Dr. Booth is a great doctor, he often spends too much time with patients. Hence he is ALWAYS running late. He is worth waiting for though. His Receptionist Sara is lovely. I always have a god experience coming to Dr. Booth's Dundas office.

Dr. Booth took care of me during my pregnancy and he was amazing!! So great to have a doctor with knowledge and common sense. He eased my mind. I actually requested to see him after pregnancy as it's hard for me to warm up to doctors when I don't normally trust them.

Terrible man. I went there with extremely high cortisol, and suddenly extreme anxiety. He was pleasant to talk to for the first little part of the interview, then he told me that unless I had an extreme disease, he couldn't help. I kept on trying to get him to help as my symptoms got worse, and his assistant told me that he wanted to see me and do some tests. I went in, all hopeful, and he told he he didn't want to do tests, he just wanted to tell me to get lost! My family Dr. did the tests instead, and it turned out that I was in menopause and that that had screwed up all my hormones and that was why I was so sick.

I recently saw a medical specialist who did blood tests that came back abnormal. He wanted to send me to Dr. Booth. I said No Way. I'll see a different endo, please.

Was no help at all, and actually was extremely detrimental to my mental health as I got so sick I was suicidal and ended up in hospital for a month.
