Biography

Board-certified in Medical Oncology and Hematology, Dr. Uma Iyer provides care to patients at the Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute (FCS) Gainesville Cancer Center. Dr. Iyer obtained her medical degree from Stanley Medical College at the University of Madras in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. She completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at East Carolina University School of Medicine in Greensville, North Carolina and a fellowship in Medical Oncology/Hematology at Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Prior to joining FCS in 2019, Dr. Iyer was employed as a medical oncologist with Cancer Care of North Florida and Community Cancer Center of North Florida.
