I was prescribed medication by Dr. McNutt for vertigo that at the time I didn't realize, had very adverse and severe side effects and my health declined drastically.
I was having muscle pain and spasms which made it hard to move, heart palps, anxiety and weakness which I never encountered in my past. When I informed Dr. McNutt about my symptoms he prescribed another addictive medication. I contacted his office about my symptoms and the horrific decline in my health and after one last visit & MRI, Dr. McNutt or his office would not respond to me in any way. I never heard back from him or his office.
I filed for soc sec disability and lost my insurance and couldn't continue seeing Dr. McNutt because he doesn't take Medicaid (Thank God!)
I sincerely trusted and liked Dr. McNutt and I think he could be a good neuro doctor in certain circumstances. He has a friendly, calming and reassuring demeanor and great qualifications. I just wish Dr. McNutt would have cared enough to tell me "these drugs are a VERY short term solution to a possible long term condition and after a week we will need to revisit and find another solution."
Now, my current primary care doctor is helping me very slowly taper from the hell of these medications and honestly this is the worse life situation I have experienced.
I also never want anyone to go through the hell I am on these medications that could and should have been avoided.
Please make sure you ask him plenty of questions about any medications he prescribes. I hope at this point he has his patients sign an "Informed Consent" for benzo and opioid medications he prescribes.
