Dr. Avi Bernstein is just works for your company’s insurance company . He will do or say anything they want him to say. He spent about 5 minutes with me and did a halfass exam. I told him I felt terrible pressure in my arms and that I was in horrific pain. He looked right in my eyes and he told me he didn’t believe that I was in any pain. WHAT!?!? He said my MRI was dark but he didn’t see anything wrong with me. He is a joke! I went and had another doctor examine me and got a new MRI and it turned out I had a ruptured disc in my neck. I had surgery and because this guy lied and it took me so long to get proper care that I now have permanent damage in my fingers and pain in my neck. Never let this man do your “Independent Medical Examination”. There is absolutely nothing independent about his diagnosis. Shame on him for selling out to make extra money.

Dr. Bernstein put my neck back together. I couldn’t walk, bend, or even get out of bed. I was in and out of the hospital until I met him. Today is my one year anniversary of my neck fusion and I’m back to running 3-4 miles a day. Thank you so much for giving me a second chance to live healthy, I’m forever grateful.

I can only say great things about Dr. Bernstein who has made an extremely positive impact to my quality of life. During 2017, I met with 4 surgeons for a crippling pain in my sciatic nerve.. Dr. Bernstein understood my issues, patiently answered all my questions, and provided me with confidence that he alone had the right solution.. He operated on me and today, my pain is gone and I'm able to resume all my previous activities.. I'm so grateful for everything he has done for me. He's the best!

My Husband just had surgery from him on his back & he is doing great after a month. My son also had surgery with him years ago. He is the chief of Ortho surgery at Lutheran. I would recommend him to anyone.

I made an appt with him for him to discuss my mri with him. He asked me more ques about when I went to see dr's and lawyers after my work comp auto accident than he did about my neck/shoulder problems. He cared nothing about the tingling down my arms or the fact that I cant turn my head all the way to the right. He said "What do you want from me? You think Im going to give you time off work. Well, forget it. I give u full clearance to work. " I never took time off work, nor was I looking for time off work. And yes, he spends LESS than 5 min with you. I have come to learn he is a mule for the insurance companies

I had to wait for 45 minutes before I was taken to an exam room. No explanation from the staff, just wait.

Once I got admitted to the exam room Dr. Bernstein spent LESS than 5 minutes with me. When I told him I was seeking his advice due to a painful neck condition, his response was a 30-second exam consisting of a simple range of motion test (touch your left and right ears to you shoulder) and a prescription for an MRI. There was no discussion about why he thought an MRI was indicated, what less expensive alternatives might be available, or what, in his experience, might cause this type of pain. In short, his communication skills were nearly nonexistent! He gave the impression that this simple case of neck pain was beneath him and he didn't want to waste his time (or he couldn't make any money treating it).

The bottom line is, I wouldn't recommend Dr. Bernstein to anyone. For all I know he may be the best ortho surgeon in the world, but if he communicates in the OR, as poorly as he communicates in the office, I wouldn't care to find out!

The bottom line is, I wou
