I have been going to see Dr. Akonye from my teenage years. So when I got married and had both of my babies I knew she was the only Dr for me and through every appointment she was friendly and very knowledgeable. I never had a problem with getting her to answer any of my questions regardless of what the topic was about. Her staff can be a little short or not as friendly but I think when you're working sometimes that can seep through and her office has a bit of a problem when it comes to wait time. But i have always enjoyed being her patient and would definetly recommend Dr Akonye as a young woman and about to be new mother

Had my first prenatal visit and I must say I was very pleased with my over all experience. I highly recommend Dr. Akonye. She helped ease any nerves and was very helpful and explained everything to me! Thank you!!

Dr Akonye is a very nice and informative. I had a very difficult pregnacy but dr Akonye was patient and always willing to listen to concerns most important I had no difficulties. I had a great experience

DR. Akonye was very nice and staff was okay also. I just don't feel like I got the information I was looking for. It being my first visit I was prepared to ask questions but was never asked what were my concerns.. I explained everything I had on m my mind to the nurse but I guess it was never told to the Dr. I left feeling very disappointed and not happy.

Spoke to Office Manager: 210 696 4960 Martha I told Martha of situation. Martha said she was going to place Dr. Akonye on the line. Dr. Akonye was upset with patient for not making her appointments and patient expressed having one vehicle and that staff books her at the farthest location. Patient told Dr. Akonye about falling and Dr. said: “Well there’s nothing I can do about it now. You could have a dead baby.”

I WAS SO SCARED THAT I HAVE WAS GOING TO HAVE SO MANY PROBLEMS THOUGH OUT MY PREGNANCY.EVERY VISIT SHE COMFORT ME AND ASSURED ME THAT EVERYTHING WOULD GO WELL.HER AND THE STAFF ARE ALWAYS SO CARING AND HELPFUL. Dr. Akonye seems to have the military mind set of hurry up and wait. Not too pleased with her, thought she would be a better obgyn, but Drs. now a days are more interested in quantity over quality. I went in for an emergency check up during my fifth month of pregnancy and it took two weeks just for a nurse to call me back with negative results. I wouldn't recommend this Dr. to anyone, she acts like she cares but I get a different feeling from her. Her nurse takes weeks to respond and the ladies that answer the phones can be very rude at times.

I saw Dr. Akonye for the first time two weeks ago. I have a return appointment to see her again to get my results. Her front staff was very friendly but her medical assistant needs to work on her personality. She has an attitude of Ms. know it all She is an excellent doctor and I will recommend her to anyone who is in need of an gynecologist.

Dr. Akonye is my OBGYN for my first pregnancy and I love her. Although her assistants is very rude and not helpful.I wish Dr.Akonye could see how rude her assistants are. They look very unhappy,They didnt even smile at me. As i checked in I could see how busy they were but i was greeted and was happy at first, once i got put in a room I was very unhappy.
