He was the worse doctor I have ever been with! So rude, and let's just say he wasn't easy down there. He rushed everything and felt like he didn't really care so much about listening to what I had to say or the questions I had. I will never go back to him. End of point

Couldn't ask for a better experience. I had a high risk pregnancy and Dr. Sullivan handled it so well.

I had an awful experience with this office. At first, the visits went fine and I was pleased with the office as a whole. His nurse practitioner was very helpful and his nurses were friendly. I had heard horror stories about the ultrasound tech, but even she was friendly each time I went in. It wasn't until the pregnancy began to go wrong that this doctor's office went bad. I began to bleed and immediately got an appointment. They were quick to see me and gave me a Rhogam shot due to being Rh-. One morning when I got up, I lost the baby. I knew what had already happened, as I am an RN. It was devastating, so they again told me to come in around 9 that morning. When I got there (it was difficult to show up in the first place, for obvious reasons), the assistant who takes blood pressure, weight, etc. continued to ask what happened. I tried to tell her that I'd lost the baby (because no one wants to have to come out and say that you passed an unborn child), but she continued to ask what happened. Even went so far as to say, "How should I document that?" WHY would I have to tell you how to do your job while going through the hardest time in my life!? It was awful. Dr. Sullivan saw me that day for the first time and was very informing, but not at all compassionate. Being a nurse I know that no matter what doctor I had gone to, I would likely have lost that baby no matter what. However, they didn't have to make it any harder. After that miscarriage I began having problems with an irregular period (not normal for me) and passing large clots months after the actual miscarriage. I went back to this office and saw yet another doctor (not Dr. Sullivan) and he proceeded to tell me that this WAS normal and it could be caused by excess adipose tissue (which is fat). He even called out my weight and told me in not so many words that I was having problems because I was too fat. I left in tears I was so angry. Only to receive a bill later in the mail for a $5 pregnancy test, when I'm sure they use the same cheap ones as all hospitals use. Needless to say, I called and paid that $5 so I would NEVER have to return to this office. Changed doctors and just had a perfect healthy little girl; will not recommend this office to others. Not even necessarily because of Dr. Sullivan, but his staff.

I used Dr. Sullivan for my last pregnancy 4 years ago. Mostly I saw his Nurse Practitioner and she is absolutely wonderful, however, the few times I did see Sullivan, it was not a pleasant experience. I did not feel that he took the time to listen to my concerns or questions. He was impatient and hurried, which is not what ANY pregnant woman wants from the Dr who is to deliver her baby. When I had my daughter he rushed me through delivery so fast that I gave birth to her in literally 16 minutes. I nearly passed out and they had to give me oxygen. I also wound up with a 3rd degree laceration to my vaginal area because of how fast and hard he was rushing me through delivery. This was my 3rd child and I was given an episiotomy that I know was not necessary. My 2nd child was delivered in Florida by a Nurse/Midwife who took her time with my son's delivery, used lubricant and stretched the skin around his head as he crowned and I never required an episiotomy nor did I tear. I've had 3 children and 3 different Dr's for each. Dr. Sullivan is by far the worst OB-Gyn I have ever had to deal with. His bedside manner is horrible. Alexander City and Dadeville desperately need more Obstetricians.

Dr. Sullivan was the doctor that my daughter chose to use right after she found out she was pregnant. After several visits she decided to swap doctors and go to the set of doctors at Henderson & Walton (Which is the same group of doctors that delivered her), because she did not like his bed side manners! Toward the end of her pregnancy she had her sugar to drop and her blood pressure to go up and she fainted and we could not get her to stay alert. We took her to Russell ER, because of her being pregnant they called in Dr. Sullivan....After he had had a chance to look at her records and discovered that she had swapped doctors, he became very short and rude to her and her husband.

I almost died after Dr. Sullivan did a c section on me. My c section incision burst open and green infection poured out of it and Dr. Sullivan said that nothing was wrong with me. I knew something was wrong before being discharged from the hospital because I was in so much pain that I was constantly crying and begging them to help me. They wouldn't give me anything and 2 hours after discharge I was running a fever of 105. I was readmitted to the hospital. Discharged again and within a few hours re-admitted for phlebitis. Discharged again and then my incision burst in the middle of the night. It was the WORST experience of my life. Run and get a new OB if he is your doctor. I missed my son's first few weeks because I was so sick.

Just changed to another doctor and I'm 30 weeks. I've only seen Dr, Sullivan once or twice since I started going....he is never there. I like his nurse practitioner, but the rest of the staff can be pretty rude and callous. Ultrasound tech is terrible. Insurance workers are awful as well. With RMC having a 57.4% c-section rate, the vast majority of babies born in Alex City are born by csection....and that is NOT NORMAL. RUN from this doctor and go to sylacauga or Opelika unless you just want to risk developing a horrible infection or something going wrong with your baby.

I had my second child in July. I developed an infection a day prior to being discharged. I ran 103-105 fever had extreme swelling all over my body and redness. I was terrified due to the amount of pain I was in. Dr Sullivan very rudely told me of coarse I would swell and have pain I had just had a baby. He was planning on discharging me and a nurse knew something was very wrong and went over dr sullivan and called in dr rory clawser( Rory Clawser is an amazing good hearted doctor!! The very next day I was rushed to uab. I have severe infection that completely destroyed my cervix and uterus. The infection had spread into my bladder and my kidneys were failing. I also had set up gangrene and the infection was rapidly spreading. I under went several surgeries. Each specialist says I owe Rory Clawser my life because had I waited twenty four more hours I would have been dead. I spent three weeks in UAB. It took several months for me to recover and I still have several problems.

I was transferred to Dr. Sullivan after my Dr. left. Most of Dr. Sullivan's staff has been nothing but polite to me, though the ultrasound tech acts impatient and it seems the farther along I get the worse she gets. My ultrasounds come out crappy, unlike when I went to the er a few times they were very good. Dr. Sullivan is impatient, he doesn't listen to my problems, and there have been multiple times I've walked into the office hearing him SCREAMING at nurses and throwing things. If I had any choice I would not continue to use him!
