Would highly recommend Dr. Orrom. Very pleasant and professional. He performed a hernia repair and I could not be happier with the result. Didn’t even need to take any of the prescribed pain meds. His follow up was right on schedule. I had stellar service from admission to final discharge. Thank you to all you professionals in admin and all the great nurses for making my day as pleasant as possible and a huge thank you to Dr. Orrom!!

Thus is the second time I have had a colonoscopy by Dr. Orrom. What an amazing doctor who makes that extra effort. I am a fellow surgeon and am so impressed by Dr. Orrom's skills and bedside manner. How lucky we are in Victoria to have Dr. Orrom around.

I recently had an appendectomy done by Dr Orrom and I couldn’t thank him enough. As an RN who works alongside him, I can easily say he is as pleasant and knowledgeable to work with as he is to be looked after by. The team and I at RJH are very appreciative of all you do!

I was very fortunate to be referred to Dr. Orram. I had relatively minor hernia surgery but...surgery is surgery...and I have to say as a professional person that I was not only impressed with the care and expertise on display by the entire team...I was moved to write this review. The Centre was busy but at no time did I feel caregivers were rushing...I got all the care I could have hoped for in the right time and right way...well beyond expectation. Thank you to Dr. Orram, Dr. Juta, Catharine, Judy (a true Angel of Mercy), the reception staff and the lovely person with the Russian accent whose name I forgot in the fog of post-surgery. I am humbled by how well and expertly I was treated...and assuredly this feeling will help my recovery...Thank You!! Kevin

Dr. Orrom's lack of availability and / or interpersonal skills meant the one consult i had with him was short, rushed and uninformative. He proposed a "quick" procedure that was supposed to have a down time of a week.

He showed up for the procedure seeming both "rushed" and unprepared to the point where the initial marking of the surgical region hadn't even been done and he did it with a sharpie marker while I was in the bed waiting to be taken into the ORT.

The "week and you'll be back at work" procedure took 5 days just to recover enough to be discharged and sent home. It shortly after resulted in an assess and a month of bouncing between hospitals before another surgeon eventually was able to cauterize the area and resolve things at least in the short term. No explanation was offered as to what had caused the assess. It took weeks to reach him for a followup consult over the phone, at which point it was explained that the first surgery was unsuccessful. None of the variety of available options were offered or discussed, just a recommendation to do the surgery that was the quickest and more convenient for him. It was no problem to convince me to go along with it as he knew I was already sitting in a hospital being fed opiates and did not possess adequate reasoning skills.

The second surgery was a success in terms of it allowed him to move along to whatever else he had to do that day. I got to enjoy four months recovering and unable to work, one of which was spent stuck in a room at the Vic General crammed in a room with three other guys, one of whom was a vagrant that they forgot to tell to go home. After three days he was eventually told to leave after he without any provocation punched me in the head while I was on my way to the bathroom.

During that month of recovery I only saw Dr. Orrom once very briefly and saw his student apprentice a couple times. No bedside manner at all. Having read all these people speaking of him in glowing terms suggests to me that either they are mainly lonely seniors who were so starved for any human interaction that they loved any attention or that the majority were written by patients still heavily dosed on narcotics. Perhaps he only turns on the charm for the over 65 patients.

The end result of his work has left me disfigured and severely disabled. n terms of the impact it has had on my life, it has effectively ruined every part of it. My ability to work, my relationship, being able to spend time with friends and loved ones: all completely decimated and all because he couldnt be bothered to even discuss the variety of other options I had which would have resulted in me being abke to live lead a somewhat regular life.

All the surgeons working in this area of practice should have to spend a month with a colostomy bag before they are allowed to receive a degree, so that they can effectively appreciate the horror they are gladly inflicting on poor unsuspecting members of the public.

He ruined my life and lost me everything that mattered to me. I am 40 and a disfigured, disabled wreck.

His receptionist Julie seemed nice but in hindsight I realize her main role was to facilitate coaxing the patients into a false sense of care or attention.
