I absolutely adored Dr Molineux. He always listened and I felt he cared about his patients. I felt good when I saw him. I wish I could have seen him more often, he was very overworked and couldn't see his patients as often as he wanted to. I found him very caring and committed to his patients. I was very sorry he left Nanaimo I wanted more time with him, unfortunately he was so busy. I was very sorry when his wife passed and he moved away. I felt like he helped me a lot and he cared about how I was doing. I wish him the very best. I think he is a special person and one of the best Doctors I have ever seen.

Not in practise in Canada at the moment (Australia on Sabbatical after the death of his wife)- It was my experience that the medication he kept UPPING only exacerbated my problem. Failure to carry through with re-diagnosis of original diagnosis lead to some major problems that leave me dealing with various "health care professionals" who seem intent on keeping with the original diagnosis. Some of his questions struck me as prurient (brightening eyes and sudden interest in the subject matter compared to other body language on other topics). Letters to GP were never sent even though my last visit with him was two months prior to the beginning of his sabbatical

Dr. Molineux has been overworked, and it's not his fault. Over a period of about eight years, I usually saw him every 3 1/2 months, due to time pressure on his schedule; at the beginning of treatment I clearly needed more attention. He's very insightful, and probably helped me more than I realize. I think he has a tremendous sense of duty and dedication, which has kept him working beyond the age when most would have retired. He knew that he was "the only game in town" and, I think, kept working because of his commitment to his patients. I also went to groups at Mental Health, and they were of no use at all to me, probably because I have an MA in Counselling Psychology from a good university, as opposed to the American degree mills. But now he's gone to Australia, saying that he would probably be back in a year. Now I've waited for several months for a psychiatrist through Mental Health, and hold out little hope. I blame the provincial government.

Great Dr!I have been going to him for 8 years, have always found him caring, supportive and not overly pushy about medicating me. His visits have almost always improved my mood at the time, his positive reinforcement is wonderful, for any challenges met. I can't imagine a nicer Psychiatrist. His receptionist is great, and always helpful when I have a phone need.

Dr.Molineux is a very kind caring man and psychiatrist who always puts his patients first. His knowledge of mental illness and medications is first rate.I have been seeing him for approx.12 years, and he has helped see me through several major depressive episodes. He is very well liked by his patients for his empathic and supportive manner, which does unfortunately sometimes cause him to be overworked and behind with appointments. However,I would much rather wait an extra 10 minutes to see him,as opposed to seeing a much less caring doctor, who happens to be on time.

Dr. Molineux is my doctor and he always gives me lots of time to talk about my problems. Dr. Molineux wasn't listening to me when he was changing my anti-depressant three years ago. My doctor said this drug makes most people GAIN weight and in the next breathe he said there is another one that helps some people lose weight. I asked him to put me on the lose weight one but he didn't listen to me. I was on this drug for about a year and I wasn't doing very well on it. I gained about 50 lbs on this drug. Finally I had to be assertive with him and he changed the anti-depressant to the lose weight drug and I've lost about 45 lbs since I've been on it. I think that Dr. Molineux is a very over worked doctor.

Does not offer much in the way of clear explainations and mostly dishes out drugs.

Too over worked and too long on the job to be effective. When I lived in Nanaimo three years ago I saw him for over a year. I left because he does have any time to listen to you and he pushes medication. Puts patients on new meds and does not follow up. I was given new medication and he went on vacation. Bad Reaction: no psychiatrist. Please retire.
