I feel that this dr only books phone appointments so that he has minimal patient contact. He fails to send prescriptions to the pharmacy , he fails to chart visits. He had the audacity to sigh during a phone appointment when I brought up his failure to send a prescription in. HE HAD THE AUDACITY TO SIGH. Sorry for infringing upon your day with my problem of not having my prescription over a long weekend.

This is not the only negative interaction I’ve had with this doctor, but as others have said - no doctors in Cranbrook are taking patients who already have doctors so I’m stuck with him.

After struggling to find a doctor for years in Cranbrook, I was lucky to be accepted by Dr Niemand. He has extensive knowledge and is up to date with the latest research, not relying on outdated information learnt in medical school like the majority of GPs here. He diagnosed me with a medical condition that others had missed for 20 years of me searching for an answer and it has radically improved my life. He is willing to listen to my concerns/medical needs and will discuss treatment options in detail. He is definitely doing his best in an under resourced medical system and I feel that he appreciates when I come to an appointment having reviewed the literature so I understand the relevant medical process without having to ask a million questions. He is a rare type of GP who will spend the extra few seconds to ensure that a patient is OK if he feels they aren't. I don't expect my doctor to prep for an extensive period of time before seeing me while operating in a hectic schedule (like other patients, it seems) but he has definitely spent time outside of appointments researching situations specific to my unusual case, and I have appreciated that immensely.

Like many have mentioned below, he doesn't review results, theres no follow ups, he doesn't send referrals for time sensitive incidents. He is quick to prescribe medications without doing any real work ups. Hes not open to exploring alternate options for anything. He will ask you to follow up in a week when your appt comes he has no idea what the appointment that he requested is about.
He can be dismissive, you really have to be your own advocate to make sure you get the care you need.
The ladies at the reception are always lovely and very helpful.

Very good doctor. Very good with all my test results. He’s very good with both my medical concerns and also my husband’s medical concerns. I’ve been his patient since he arrived and he has been very good in all areas of treatment.

The very worst doctor in the city of Cranbrook, BC. The staff at Tamarack Medical group are a five out of five but I don't want to give any stars to this man that shouldn't even be called a doctor.

In a word Terrible. He is arrogant, inattentive, cannot be bothered to address patients concerns, or fill out paperwork. Seldom available, and does not listen to patients concerns. One is forced to nag the staff to try to get results from him which I'm sure places them in an awkward position. I cannot praise the other staff of the clinic enough, but he isn't worthy of the title Dr. Unfortunately like the rest of anywhere else Canada, its hard to find a Doctor so ones forced to take what one can get.

He keeps saying he will send me for this test and that, but never actually does the referrals. I am constantly calling to remind him every few months, and he still doesn't get them done. Apparently it's not just with me either.

This Dr works in Cranbrook BC now. He lacks punctuality, doesn’t bother to read charts or letters sent by specialists until he’s asked for results. Seems to have an aversion to physically examining people. He seems to lack medical knowledge.
