I had been going to Dr. Mackay for more than 20 years but have finally had enough. Front desk woman is weird and makes it very awkward to wait in the waiting room.

Office was switching to iPads to track everything and Dr. Mackay was obviously too old to be bothered by learning the new technology and instead would yell at me, the patient, when the iPad wouldn't do what she wanted it to.

The last time I went to see her I had a few questions. The first one she answered simply with an "I don't know." The next one was answered with, "It isn't like you have cancer", which had nothing to do with what I inquired about. After the second question she began walking out the door which I had to stop her and ask her the last question. She kept the door open and didn't even walk over to look at my inquiry and instead exasperatedly said "I DON'T KNOW" as if I was inconveniencing her by even asking and then walked away.

I had to follow up with her assistant Chris for the rest of my questions.

I later found out that Dr. Mackay had left Plymouth Meeting and was opening her own practice. Probably because she didn't want to use iPads. She couldn't even bother to let her patients know, especially ones who had seen her for 20 years. At this point in her career she is too old to actually care about people and should just retire.

My family has been patents of Dr. MacKay for many years. We are all leaving the practice and I would not recommend them. I find her front desk staff to be very rude and cold they treat you as if they are doing you a favor. Hopefully you will never have issues with your insurance company and need their assistance because if you do they will not help you. Dr. MacKay yelled at me over the phone saying her staff does not get paid to deal with insurance companies. She was very unprofessional and would not let me get a word in and did not offer any solution to my issue. I do not recommend this practice.

after 2 1/2 years. I had been going to Dr MacKay since she graduated from medical school & bought Dr Burgoon's practice. I had been a member of this practice since the mid 1960s when it was located in Norristown. I consulted her for a latex allergy I had sustained from wearing latex gloves for my job. If I had never gone to her, I would only have localized blisters & lesions on my hands when I touched latex. Unfortunately, she prewcribed the highest steroid cream made, which triggered a devastingly excruciating, incurable & progressive condition called Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy. She lied to the lab, a rheumatologist & workmens comp saying I had a history of lupus/vascular collagen disease, which she knew was a lie, as I had seen her for annual checkups for many years & I never had any symptoms nor had I been tested for either! In spite of my long history with her, she immediately abandoned me & left me with a life not worth living. I am in indescribable pain 24/7!

Dr Mackay is very personable, friendly, gentle, kind, and has practised within her field for 30 years. Her expertise coupled with her gentle manner and friendly smile immediately puts one at ease. At the same time she is down to earth and very realistic. I would recommend her very highly.
