I am alive because of this man treating my ex and reporting concerns for my safety almost 7 years ago. We are still in hiding and I would like to remain anonymous but I also want to thank him for reporting his concerns to the Winnipeg police who requested a wellness check on us while we were being threatened and harrassed by his relatives in rural Saskatchewan. The RCMP wouldn't take anything we were reporting seriously until they were contacted by the Winnipeg police concerning detailed sceneries he was sharing with his psychiatrist of how he was wanting to kill me as his relatives were carrying them out. Dr. Goossen, I have always meant to thank you. You have a really hard job and I appreciate your dedication to helping those with mental illness get better. More importantly I want to thank you for using your own judgement and requesting that safety check. You saved my life, you saved my autistic son's life. Forever grateful to be a survivor now instead of an ongoing victim thanks to you. Thanks so much

I liked him. Saw him at the crisis place, felt listened to and really like he got what was going on with me even though no one else seems to.

Sadly, diagnosed the consequences of a iatrogenic injury as "paranoid schizophrenia". I'm really not sure why. Before I was 50 years old I had never experienced auditory hallucinations and no previous psychiatrists mentioned this diagnosis as a possibility. Further investigation of the cause suggests I had ingested psychotropic medication contaminated by "nano technology", "nano particles" that can have devastating physical consequences. Prescribed by a previous psychiatrist w/o my knowledge and consent. I wish Dr. Goossen reviewed my previous medical records - I did. I prefer medical practitioners who believe in "continuity of care" as opposed to those who question the diagnoses of previous doctors.

Although Dr. Goossen is knowledgeable, I felt he didn't look at the whole picture and solely focused on prescribing me medication. I experience several adverse side effects and had to try 13 different medication combinations before finding what worked. I did not feel heard and got far worse before getting better.
