After our, now daughter, shared her feelings about her journey in transitioning from a male to female, my ex-husband and I met with Dr. Weisberg to ask questions, learn, and understand the transitioning process.
Based on all the negative reviews posted about him online, I was VERY apprehensive about our meeting.
Our meeting was the complete opposite of all the negative things I read about him.
Dr. Weisberg was very professional, respectful, knowledgeable, honest, understanding, and compassionate. He throughly explained the process and welcomed any questions or concerns we had. He spent as much time as needed to ensure that our questions were answered and our minds were at ease. You could truly tell that his heart was into the work he does! I walked out of that clinic knowing that my child was in good hands!
After the appointment, I realized that the majority of those negative comments probably came from one or all of the following:
A.) A scorned ex-wife trying to sabotage his reputation and career.
B.) Former patients who weren’t told what they WANTED to hear... but instead what they NEEDED to hear for the sake of their health and safety.
C.) Friends of the scorned ex-wife being accomplices in their friend’s libel defamation of character. Which by the way is legally considered a tort (civil wrong).
So.... let’s just say.... Don’t believe everything said or written about medical professionals. Some of the BEST doctors I’ve ever had as a patient, a mother, and had the privilege to work along side as a nurse... have had the worst things said and written about them.
Always judge for YOURSELF!

After my experiences with Weisberg, the only reason I continue to use him for hormones is because he is the only option in Alabama. Because of this, he gets away with treating patients horribly. He judges his patients when they answer his questions (face palming and smirking at them) and his staff in general is less friendly than DMV employees. If you have a 10 am appointment and get there at 9:45 to check in, you should still expect to wait until at least 11 to be called back. He also takes personal phone calls during appointments, while he's sitting in the room right in front of you. Weisberg takes vacations almost every other week and it's very hard to get an appointment. This is not how any office, let alone an LGBT clinic, should be run.

USED TO BE A COMPETENT DR WHEN HIS WIFE AND MAKEBA WORKED WITH HIM. HE'S A HORRIBLE MAN; HE TREATS HIS STAFF AND PATIENTS LIKE THE VERBALLY ABUSIVE TYRANT THAT HE HAS BECOME.
ON ONE VISIT, HE WAS ON THE PHONE WITH HIS LAWYER, DURING MY VISIT AND WALKED OUT. HE NEVER EVEN SAID GOODBYE OR CAME BACK. I HAD TO ASK THE NURSE FOR MY PRESCRIPTION.
TIME FOR YOU TO COME OUT OF THE CLOSET "DR" WEISBERG! SHAME ON YOU FOR TREATING THE LGBTQ COMMUNITY AND NOT ADMITTING THAT YOU ARE GAY TOO.

If you want a doctor who cares about you look elsewhere. Dr. Weisberg is all about the money. He left me in the middle of an appointment to go joke inappropriately with his staff (you can hear through the walls). He has a strange personality that makes things very awkward. I have called the clinic a few times to have prescriptions called or faxed and his staff have often been rude and many times failed to send the prescription until my third or fourth call. Find a different doctor who cares about his or her patients.

I saw Dr. Weisberg for two years and he is the best doctor I've had in my adult life. He is smart, thorough, direct without being rude and practices medicine in a highly-ethical manner with total concern for both the short- and long-term outcome of his patients. One of the reasons I hated moving from Birmingham is knowing I would not find a doctor (and staff) that I like as much as Dr. Weisberg. He is truly dedicated to helping people in all situations and is someone who entered the medical profession for all the right reasons.

Dr. Scott Weisberg is awesome! Not only is he a great doctor, but a great guy! He sat down and really listened to my health problems; I couldn't believe that he actually listened to me and didn't rush me! I got all the time I needed with him. I have a lot going on with my physical and mental health and he addressed each issue one at a time. His staff is also really responsive and I appreciate them too!

Dr Weisberg has a well-run and friendly office. Never had to wait more than 10 minutes, and he uses technology to supplement his hands-on care practice so that he easily keeps up with what is going on with you over time and in relation to different health issues. He is an excellent diagnostician and has shown superb judgment in his treatment regimens for several issues I've had in comparison to previous doctors that I've done to for the same thing.

I don't know how he used to be in the past, but for the past three years, Dr. Weisberg has been an excellent physician to me. He is assertive in his questioning, but very knowledgeable of medication and the human body. He spends plenty of time with me to make sure I understand exactly why he prescribes what, and if there are any alternative measures we can take. When I took information from a visit of mine to a family friend who was my childhood doctor back home, that doctor stated for me to stay with Weisberg in the future because he obviously knows his stuff. I trust Weisberg.
