RIP Larry Collins! He has been our family doctor for years. Great guy and wonderful for referrals. He died on July 24, 2012.

I had had a couple of brief medical walk-in visits with Dr. Collins years ago: My GP prescribed Rx for my medical condition twice without seeing any improvement; I visited the walk-in clinic where Dr. Collins was on duty that half day. He just looked at the problem, told me I didn’t need Rx (some people might call it “abrupt”) . . .; he solved the problem within less than minute. I was wordless . . . My experience showed that he was RIGHT TO THE POINT in diagnosis and SOLVED IT at THAT POINT, no delayed. Once the problem was solved, he didn’t want waste his and YOUR, the patient’s time (I had not felt I was being “rushed” out.) I saw nothing wrong with this professional manner which is SO CANADIAN. I fully agreed that he is one of the Top diagnosticians if not the BEST in L. Mainland. I should have had requested him to be my family doctor (then); but I hesitated, my lost; so is my health (especially now). I am still KICKING myself for that hesitation years, years ago.

I have been a patient of Dr. Collins since 1976 when I picked him out of the phone book. It was serendipitous, as he has been an excellent choice. What I like most about him is the fact that he does not condescend, but will show me the test results and lab reports, and treats me as an equal, rather than talking down to me. I do not see abruptness, but rather, a man who is quiet by nature. I feel very lucky to have him as my physician.

Very abrupt, wants to charge 100.00 for annual fee. Will not take on family members whose family doctor retired. Have been with him for 30 years. Disappointed.

Dr. Collins is my wife favorite Dr. She prefers to drive 90 minutes to Vancouver to consult him. One of the best Dr around.

Larry Collins is tops. A bright compassionate and knowlegable man. Wonderful links to specialists and really responds when you need him. I can't praise him enough and his assistant, Judy, is simply wonderful too!
