very unhappy. refered by the hospital after I had my child. At the first appt Dr did not seem friendly or personable and didnt answer any of my questions reguarding my child's eating habbits. Although my first impression wasn't great I agreed to give him two more appts before making a decision. At the next appt, we waited over 40 mins. for the Dr to see us, once we entered the private room we noticed the room was dirty (i.e. overflowing trash, an ear thermometer on the floor). The nurse came in to check the baby's weight and the nurse staff is always polite and professional. They are the best part about the office. The nurse left and we waited another 15 minutes for the Dr. Dr. Garner came in asked how she was doing, said she gained weight and left the room. He never touched her, didnt examine her at all. Only gave us about 2 minutes of his time. Two days later I called concerned that my child may be ill and the phone rang for two minutes with no answer during office hours.

I have seen Garner for over 20 years, and several generations of my family go to him. That being said, i would not recommend him for everyone. It's become very clear to me that the visits with the children make his day, however, it seems as though he already has his diagnosis on adults made up before walking into a room. Few follow through questions are asked to help determine if it could be anything more than he might think. Also, if lab work/etc is ordered, it's nearly impossible to hear the results of those. Although he tends to rotate through them very quickly, his PAs are always very helpful. His staff also seems to be willing to help, but appears to be extremely over-worked and insufficiently able to (ie, the returning phone calls). Wait times to see the doctor himself are very long, about an hour in the waiting room and usually half an hour in the private room. Double booking seems to be the standard.

Dr Garner is the one doctor that has helped me through many difficult illnesses and crisis. He is a master with medications and is not afraid to try to patiently try meds until the right one is fine-tuned to your situation. I would highly recommend him as a great doctor.

We have always had to wait over an hour and a half past our appointment time to be seen. Then we get less than 5 minutes with the doctor and very poor bedside manner.
