Dr. Chan did both my knee replacements with great success. He has always been helpful and kind.

Worst medical experience of my life. I was a very active 56 year old with mild discomfort in my hip. His answer was to replace it, "safest and most successful surgery in North America" blah blah blah. Not true. I now have Activity Limiting Thigh Pain. I have constant pain in my thigh, I limp excessively and I am way worse than before the surgery. Chan doesn't care about his patients that have issues post surgery. I had an incision on my rear end that he couldn't / wouldn't explain. There are way better surgeons out there! Steer clear I know of 6 other patients that have similar and worse issues.

Dr. Chan did my PFO closure and it was a very smooth procedure. Since the day we met prior to my procedure, he explained really well my case and he is very accommodating.

I had 2 total knee replacements with Dr. Albert Chan and can honestly say he is the most caring, knowledgeable and best surgeon ever. I recovered well from my surgeries and he even made a special trip to the hospital to take the staples from the last surgery as I had mistakenly missed my appointment from the day before. His bed side manners are like none other and I wish him the very best in the future. Thank you Dr Chan.

I broke my wrist and clavicle in July 2021. I was lucky to have Dr. Chan evaluate me at the cast clinic at Langley Memorial. He was very caring and answered all my questions. I then saw him 3 more times the last at his office on January 27 2022. As always he treated me so well and I left there feeling very optimistic about my recovery. I had many phone conversations with Debbie and finally met her on my last visit. She is an efficient and caring person and I would recommend this team to anyone. Shirley North

My experience was not good. I found Dr Chan was not open for discussion regarding my knee issues. He was more focused on lecturing than listening. He showed no empathy regarding the pain I am having in my knee(torn damaged meniscus along with osteoarthritis). He advised me operating to fix or clean up the meniscus would be a waste of time as statistics show, because I’m 63 years old, surgery results wouldn’t be very good (BTW, I am a very healthy and active 63year old) . When I asked more questions about surgery he was very arrogant, stuck his finger in my face and warned me “you better not complain if you don’t like the results”… unbelievable. After the unacceptable way he treated me I certainly wouldn’t trust him to operate or administer any other treatment to me! I’m going for a second opinion

Dr Chan did my shoulder surgery 12 years ago and it was very successful. Now my other shoulder is torn and I requested Dr. Chan.
He is conservative in his treatment plans, but provides all the options and is a kind and caring doctor. I have chosen the surgical option and look forward to being pain free.
His receptionist Debbie is wonderful. She's efficient and kind and has been a pleasure to deal with. A family member had a knee replacement with a great outcome and has relayed the same comments.

I had a total knee replacement two weeks ago. I have already a greater than 90 degree bend and only have to use a cane. I highly recommend Dr Chan. Has the best bedside manner of any Doctor I have known. Very knowledgeable and efficient. Thanks Dr Chan. You’ve changed my life for the better

My mother had two knee replacements with this Dr. Both knees were unsuccessful and she is in extreme pain. She is in so much pain and is in worse condition than before Surgery. He doesn't want to admit that maybe something is wrong and tells he it looks fine. Wrong, she crawls up her stairs and now he legs have bowed. Mistake going to this Dr. Always get a second opinion before any Dr cuts you open. I wish I took her to a different Dr. Very sad for my mother as she will soon be in a wheel chair. Thanks for this mess Dr Chan!!!

I have had a great experience with Dr Chan and his receptionist. I go every six months for knee injections until a knee replacement. Both the staff at the hospital and the office are wonderful.
