Dr. Christiansen is an excellent doctor. I came to her in January of 2008 after being recommended by my primary care physician. She is the best doctor I have ever known. I also have an anxiety problem. Most doctors do not understand my anxiety issues and have little patience with me. Dr. Christiansen does not make me feel different. It is just the opposite. she is a very caring, patient and knowledgeable doctor. She is an expert in her field. She listens, then explains what the problem is and goes on to tell you what is needed to help control or eliviate the problem. She also involves me in her conversations so that I understand, in common language what is going on. She has a sense of humor that is infectious and puts me more at ease because of her kind and gentle personality. She wants to put the patient at ease with her words and not all of the medical talk I do not understand. I deeply trust and respect her. I would not go to any other GI doctor than her. She is top rated with me!

I am not sure about this doctor. I really trust the surgeon that recommended her though, so I will continue to give her a chance. I think she is knowledgable, but she is very...different. She is loud and unprofessional. She swears a lot. Sometimes I felt like she was making fun of me. When I told her I had incontinence at night, she yelled out, "so you**** the bed a couple of times a night and have a big mess in the bed." I told her that I wear adult diapers. I was very offended. She also did tell me something along the lines of what the other reveiwer mentioned about accepting that I have problems; just live with it. Then she went on to describe how we were going to treat it, so very contridictory. She did dictate in the room, which I found odd, but at least I know what she is putting in my records and that it is accurate. It didn't bother me. She does make me uncomfortable.

This doctor does not listen. I learned about her and her family. I also learned about how great her nurse was. With the 90 seconds left she simply said I should stop trying to figure out why I have been having problems and accept that I do. Then she wrote me a prescription. Of course the prescription was doubling a dose of something she said could be causing the problem in the first place. Also, I don't know where her British accent is from -- she has been here since she was 10. She mistakes sounding British with being funny. She has zero listening skills and even did her dictation of my visit notes as I sat there. I wouldn't even send someone I dislike to see her.

Dr. Chrristiansen is a great doctor. Not only is she very good at figuring GI problems out, she is very funny and caring. I sometimes am laughing so much I forget what I was there for!You can also email her and expect a reply usually same day. She is not the type of doctor that wants you to come in constantly for check-ups, but if you are having a problem she will do everything to move her schedule around to get you in. Now that is a great doctor!
