He tried to start me on an antidepressant called lamotrigen 5 days before I was scheduled for major surgery. This drug can cause a life-threatening "skin melting" rash with slow onset in some cases. I was not even depressed at the time, just extremely anxious. How could I have monitored for a serious rash while recovering from major surgery?
Front office staff was great. His Nurse Practioner was terrible.
