Bio Behavioral Health is unreliable to get appropriate appointment times during COVID, especially during the last few weeks upon unforeseen circumstances. Dr. Patel is retiring and closing his clinical practice at Bio Behavioral Health in a few weeks, but is still continuing research clinical trials instead of regular medication management for clients. The office staff does not handle questions and concerns with proper care, common courtesy, and empathy to those with mental health issues who cannot find appropriate continued care with another physician. Communication is very difficult as I am not able to speak to my prescriber, Judith Kern who is in the same office. They will not allow me to. As an advocate for my mental health who has an understanding for others who deal with common struggles with their mental health, this is unacceptable to the mental health community. We are being advised to seek out help in the meantime at the local hospital’s crisis unit for medication adjustments, which is not actually supposed to be used for that. With hands tied, this is extremely frustrating as a patient. I hope that the office and physicians can improve their communication with their clients so that those with underlying mental health issues can be treated fairly with the appropriate care and respect they deserve. As you can see, this is a very upsetting situation and detrimental to our mental health.

I have been seeing Dr Parel since 1998. With his help I have been able to own my own home and still have the same job for 17 years. Listens to my problems. Good doctor

I have been going to this doctor for over a year. This office has made my life miserable. Appointments made that the Dr was not in the office, rescheduled. Prescriptions written incorrectly, not calling pharmacy back. Office manager is very rude, condescending, no compassion, and hangs up on you. This is one of the worst offices I have ever been to. Instead of healing whatever mental issues you have, the aggravation in dealing with this office and doctor makes your symptoms worse!! Save yourself a mental breakdown and go to someone else. I am looking in Monmouth county, I'm sure I will find a more professional office.

The Doctor is very unresponsive when asked to verify a new medication to both the pharmancy and insurance company. Am waiting almost two weeks to have him call the insurance company. Would suggest someone should look into his practice.
