Glad to see some positive reviews here. Our experience was not. Dr. Lin performed an endarterectomy on my dad, and sadly he stroked during the procedure. It took medical staff (in the cardiac unit) several hours to conclude he was having a stroke, despite the fact that he was previously a smart, strong man, and now could only recite numbers when asked a question. While it is possible this could have happened regardless of the surgeon, it was the actions taken after the fact that are most concerning. It is my understanding a prompt thrombectomy can reverse the neurologic damage; however, it was at least 8 hours later when Dr. Lin performed the "emergency" procedure on the clot/s. My father is now paralyzed on one side, unable to walk independently, and unable to communicate beyond "hi/how are you" pleasantries and yes/no answers. Additionally, the staff at Harris Hospital punctured his esophagus with the ng tube. Caused a Class III hemorrhage, which they said was due to "acid reflux". He lost 4 units of blood in 30 days. NOT acid reflux. Educate yourself and ask a lot of questions before you agree to go under the knife.

I am an active 67 year old,I had my triple bypass back in March. I had concerns that having my sternum cut would limit my future activities and ask Dr.Lin to wire it up good enough that I would be able to do push-ups again. Ten weeks out I was doing push-ups. He did a good 'clean' surgery, minimal pain and healed quickly.I would like to add that the staff at Harris hospital were very good to me.
