6 years ago, I was referred to him by my primary. He botched up my 2nd biopsy, in many ways, then, was late & unprepared for a surgical procedure, which lead to it being cancelled. Thankfully, I switched to Siteman! I have no doubt, he would’ve killed me if I hadn’t!

Dr Ruff removed my severely infected gallbladder bladder in an emergency surgery. He is knowledgeable, competent and has a wonderful bed side manor. When he needed to tell me that the gall bladder was also cancerous he did I it with compassion and explained to me and my wife what the next step would be. He had already talked to the doctor from Sitemen and had an appointment set for me. I think he's the best. Oh and one more thing..he takes time out of his busy day to call you himself..not his staff..but himself. How many other doctors do you know that does that? As far as his office staff..they were always on top of things...it was always a good experience visiting the office.

Dr. Ruff removed my appendix back in May. During my stay in the hospital he came to check on me 2-3 times a day and spent at least 15 minutes with me during each visit. Fantastic bedside manner! Took the time to explain everything in easy to understand manner. When I call his office with a question, Dr. Ruff actually gets on the phone himself rather than have his staff relay messages. He is wonderful! Wish all doctors were like him! Highly recommend!

Dr. Ruff is fantastic, as is his entire team! I was referred to Dr. Ruff and was hesitant because he was located about an hour from my hometown, and at a very small hospital. He was well worth the drive.. Dr. Ruff is extremely kind, has fantastic bedside manner, and immediately put me at ease regarding my upcoming surgery. The outpatient surgery team at St. Joseph's in Breese far surpassed my expectations. They listened to my concerns and addressed every one of them quickly and they worked very hard to make sure I was comfortable post-op. I'm very thankful to have gotten to work with Dr. Ruff, and I would highly recommend him to anyone needing surgery (especially laparoscopic cholecystectomy).

I thought Dr. Ruff and his team were great. When you walk in, especially after the first visit you are greated like you have been a patient for a long time even if it is just your second visit. Then you only wait in the exam room for a couple minutes before Dr. Ruff comes in with a smile and upbeat greeting. This helped me relax even though I was a little anxious. I thought Dr. Ruff was very thorough he told me exactly what to expect and even checked out some other concerns. After my procedure during recovery, I called to ask a question, next thing I know Dr. Ruff is answering my call. I don't think I have ever called a doctor without having to go through the nurse taking a message and eventually getting a call back not from the doctor but from the nurse relaying the doctor's answer. Again, this helped me relax and trust. I would definitely recommend!

Not too sure on going back to this doctor. The office visit was for a cyst and all he said was well I don't see anything, come back when its full blown but yet patient has pain upon exercise and tenderness with whatever this growth is. Found it funny that the general doctor one week ago said it will need to be cut out but this doctor did not take the time to even order a test to see if maybe the cyst is more embedded. We will not be retuning to him for he was not very thorough with his examination. I think he did not want to be bothered by such a small case. I don' recommend this doctor to anyone. It was a waste of my co pay.
