Dr. Weaver was the third neurologist my husband saw for his post stroke seizures and by far the best. he certainly impressed us with his knowledge and accepted my input as well as my husband's. The man is amazing, caring, sharing of information, great sense of humour, respectful of his patients, and made a difficult situation better by his wisdom and understanding. His research at Dalhousie in Alzihimers disease has received international acclaim.

Dr. Weaver is not only a knowledgeable physician, he (as an award winning scientist and the Canadian research chair in neuroscience) is the tops in his field. He can come off a bit abrasive, but it is soon evident that he is a very caring person with a wicked sense of humor. Top marks to Dr. Weaver, I feel lucky to be seen by him.

I found Dr Weaver to be extremely helpful and caring. I as a health professional myself, feel very fortunate to have this gifted man as my own Neurologist.

Dr.Weaver was my doctor when he was in Kinston,ON. What a great doctor! I was so sorry to see him leave. He did so much to help control my epilepsy and my fears. I have never met a neurologist like him and I don't expect I ever will. He's a one of a kind! Smart, interested, sensitive with a sense of humour. Those of you in Nova Scotia should consider yourselves fortunate to have an excellent doctor such as this in your location. You only have to Google his name to find all the awards he has been given, the books/papers written and patents granted for his research work. In this case you really need to appreciate what you have---or please talk him into coming back to Kingston--because the patients at the clinic here WILL. WE MISS HIM.

There is no doubt about it that this man is VERY smart and well-learned, but the problem is that he KNOWS it. When you bring up issues and problems you are having that are related to the main problem he doesn't seem to care as long as the main problem is solved, no matter how much it interferes with your daily life. I really don't find him helpful at all and I feel like he is sometimes condescending, but in a very subtle way. He's good at his job, just a little too proud and haughty.

Dr. Weaver never puts on airs. He doesn't make a person feel like they're being rushed, but never leaves them waiting for him, either. Even when you don't know how to describe the strange symptoms you're having, he teases out what he needs to know, to begin his diagnosis. He doesn't spend the whole appointment writing, he spends it talking, listening and examining. Then he answers your questions. If he doesn't know, he tells you flat out. If he will never know, he tells you, flat out. If there's a way, he tells you. He's a plain talking man, and when you're scared, and confused, there's nothing you need more than that. I trust him, completely.
